re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Swift - Now Launched!

Around the rear quarter panel, the car looks a bit like the London taxi. More to do with the angle of the pic? May be

The interiors does look quite nice!

From the photographs, the plastics seem to be proto batch parts, without grain structure. This is normal during development stages; usually the grain structure is etched into dies at the last (in some cases just before start of mass production trial).

I am sure the mass production car will have better looks and feel on the plastics. Suzuki can't risk to go below the current Swift levels.

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Swift - Now Launched!

Instrument cluster same as Baleno and pop out speedometers look really nice and mean, suits sporty attitude. That flat bottom steering wheel with nice looking buttons complete the look.

Door panel still flaunts the same switches.

Infotainment system looks same as one on Baleno Zeta model. A/C knobs looks funky with may be display in each.

Rest it sports the almost same silhouette as Swift with more bulges around waist line. Led tail lights with a plain pattern and some modern headlights is all the changes in exterior.

Yes it looks similar to Baleno Delta/Zeta variant. Even the side AC vents look like they are from Baleno, the position is interchanged in Swift.

That's a strikingly similar silhouette to the current car, except the protruding rear quarter panel. Not much of a new design by the looks of it, and I can't help thinking the Indian version won't get too many goodies either, at least nothing that would give it a leg up on the Baleno which will probably be a segment higher.

That's the european version, by the time it comes to India, not even 10% of the car will be the same and I'm sure the ground clearance will be increased to the Maruti standard 170mm.

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Swift - Now Launched!

Suzuki 2017 Swift pics confirm an evolutionary design retaining the current driving dynamics and will be a segment below Baleno.

- DRL's , low loading lip and could have the liquid flow design, the rear door handles sit high next to the C-pillar .

For India it is speculated to get the 1.0L boosterjet ans 1.2Dualjet SHVS petrol variants and for diesel could be the 1.3 MJD or Suzuki's 1.5L diesel engine.

That's one awesome interior. Love it.

Suzuki has clearly sought inspiration from everywhere.
  1. Everyone' biggest issue is dealt with. Suzuki has changed the steering wheel. Now it looks like as its from a Jag. But no issues there, its a rather lovely wheel.
  2. Sorry, the power window switch looks very similar. And I have never understood the big hatred towards that one though.
  3. The steering controls and HU looks very VW.
  4. The front window with that pointed edge is unmistably Swift.
  5. The gear lever is as we have it in Baleno/ Brezza.
  6. The display for Battery, Motor etc. in the MID doesn't look like a mild hybrid, it means business.
  7. The oval instrument pods look very similar to the one in Fiesta, but the tachometer is unmistakably Swift.
  8. The Swift never had circular vents in the center, that's a change and I don't think I like it that much.
  9. The side vents resemble the ones from Tiago in shape, or we can say F-Pace.

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Swift - Now Launched!

Next-gen Swift slated for a March 2017 unveil, the Swift for India will spawn a 'Dzire' compact sedan as well. There are chances that the next-gen Swift may exclude the internationally sold three-door model altogether.

All-new Suzuki Swift will be unveiled in Geneva next year; to feature style changes from the current model. The majority of the changes have taken place at the front of the car, where there's a new nose with a hexagonal grille and large air intakes.

Well this is horrible, they have still retained the power window switches that came in the first gen swift. Why ??

But I sure do like the interiors, looks much better than the Brezza's interiors too. And its a good thing that Swift can never be priced above the Baleno, so pricing would be competitive for sure

yes! but why is that, time & again we've all seen that the showcased concept changes drastically for our market. Ground clearance is understandable, given our road conditions but many other things like the inside wares get deleted & even the exterior sometimes lacks some goodies. Do they subsidize our cars??? so why this step fatherly treatment

Doesn't the side profile resemble the Nissan Juke? It looks very similar but more angular and lower than the juke.
