Suzuki has sorted out the rear space with the new Gen having a longer wheel base. But it will be much lesser than the Baleno.

If those numbers are accurate, the new gen is 30 mm shorter in height and 10mm less front-to-back. Unless cabin packaging is drastically revamped, I wouldn't expect much by way of overall space gains.

Here are excerpts from Autocar India on the space:

Quote:
Moving ahead and into the back seats, the first thing you notice is how much more legroom there is. The 20mm increase in wheelbase has certainly liberated a good amount of space.

Quote:
Starting at the rear, Suzuki has addressed what is possibly the Swift’s biggest weakness – boot space. The older car had just 204 litres, barely enough for a couple of small soft bags. In fact, the limited boot capacity is what pushed many buyers to the Swift Dzire

The headroom comment in the article is a bit surprising. I can only presume they've played around with seat height and design to release headroom in a 30mm shorter car.

What made the already small boot worse was the high lip, and that trait is reportedly carried over.

The reviewer drove a better equipped version than the 'indianized' one we'll get, but still doesn't appear to have walked away impressed. Reads a bit like 'its new and improved but don't hope for much'.

Wait and watch for me. Goes on my consideration set if it's as good as the outgoing car.

They(Autocar) reviewed the car almost 6 months back. However it's the indianized version which we are interested in. Here is yet another post of their review of the international version on YouTube -

The image seems to have an error. The new swift is wider by 40mm than the old one.

With the launch supposedly happening within a month from now, shouldn't we be seeing camouflaged versions on the roads being tested or did I miss any. Clear images should have been out by now. What's with the secrecy at this stage.

Scoop: 3rd gen Maruti Suzuki Swift

Thanks to a friend who prefers to remain anonymous. Note the NEXA style of Badging. I guess eventually all MSIL products will follow this theme.

Wow!! This is the scoop of 2018 . The car looks really hot in red. Thanks to my friend Shiekh Ershad for telling me that the location is at Kochi. He also says that Sai Service centre is very close to the place where this swift was spotted.

Shashi - Thanks for the scoop.

Red looks delicious! Big thanks to Maruti as there's no Chrome

Simply de-badge the ride, mask (or) paint the 'S' logos, get the roof and ORVM's blackened, add wider rubber and you're all set

Mother and Father of all scoops yeah!

And now watching this, accessories manufacturers must have already put their design team on jobs to come up with the following:
- Chrome Grille
- Rear Spoiler
- Chrome inserts for Door Scoops
- Chrome cover for the mirrors
While a few more folks interested in better aesthetics down south would already be designing the underbody kits to make it a 'Sports Edition'.

Thanks for the scoop, it should go straight to the TBhp homepage.

I really wish it won't have tin like build quality.

Build quality will be the same what New Dzire has.

Anybody noticed the 'Chevy Beat' type rear door opening lever and it's location in the new Swift?
