Re: Isuzu starts production at Andhra Pradesh. Rolls out D-Max V-Cross @ 12.49 lakhs

At 12.49 it is a sweet deal. Surprising enough that at Auto Expo the Isuzu guys said that DMAX VCROSS comes fully loaded with the audio head unit etc. and at the launch, they are quoting this as accessory. What's the point of offering the steering mounted audio controls then?

Other issue I see is that the loading bay cover is priced a bit high. Seems like they need to revise the prices soon.

Re: Isuzu starts production at Andhra Pradesh. Rolls out D-Max V-Cross @ 12.49 lakhs

Does Isuzu have any plans to sell MU-7 or MU-X pan-India with realistic prices and service support? Any information on this?

Re: Isuzu starts production at Andhra Pradesh. Rolls out D-Max V-Cross @ 12.49 lakhs

Guys, any idea on what mileage can be expected (city/highway) for the V Cross?

My friend is keen on booking, but was informed the claimed mileage is 7kmpl (city), which is a dampener considering his monthly running. Anyone having an idea on the real life mileage he can expect?

Re: Isuzu starts production at Andhra Pradesh. Rolls out D-Max V-Cross @ 12.49 lakhs

for V-Cross, the specs says deck loading weight as 265 Kgs, which I understand has to be lower rated than the commercial D-Max.
On the other hand, some of you are saying to place dead weight of 100-200 kgs on deck, to improve ride quality and grip.

I would like to know - are these specs just theoretical (on paper) ? or what could be max weight loading from practical view, not to really impose any harm to vehicle ?

IIRC Tata did the same thing with Xenon enabling it to be registered as a private vehicle. One should probably check the specs from other countries to get the correct value of it's load carrying capacities.

Most other countries' Dmax versions claim a payload capacity of 1000 Kilos and towing capacity of 3500 kilos.

With the ban on 2000 cc + vehicle slowly spreading out, i doubt how many pieces of the vcross with private registration will finally hit the road in the long run! Isuzu should take the cue and come up with a 1.99 version like Mahindra for a long term solution!!

Re: Isuzu starts production at Andhra Pradesh. Rolls out D-Max V-Cross @ 12.49 lakhs

recently I saw an advertisement an auto magazine - Dr.Nano composite leaf sprint soon available for V-Cross; maybe that advt was put looking at the V-Cross being launched in the country.

Query: will CFL in VCross improve the ride quality ?
and what about sturdiness after putting CFL ?

regards,

Just ran a tire size comparison on an on line calculator. Seems like 265-60-17 is an exact match in circumference with the stock tires, which are 245-70-16. Wouldn't this be an awesome upgrade, making the truck look real solid and would also mean zero speedo errors. Any idea if the former size is available from major tire makers in India?

Did not find 265-60-17 though 265/65-17 are available from Yokohama. What about the warranty? What do you think ISUZU will honor warranty for suspension issues if any problem arises. I did ask about this to SA at ISUZU service center here in Bangalore but he was not aware.

265-65-17 would cause some small speedo errors since circumference would be 3.5% higher according to the calculator. Still it should be manageable in terms of physical fit as the Dmax has massive wheel arches. And it would look deadly. This is the same size as used by Fortuner.

In the US, I see a number of pickups with a body built on the bed to make them into an SUV shape. Some are very professionally done, it is hard to make out that it is a pick up in the first place. After all body on frame SUVs start with nearly the same base as the pick up equivalent and build a body on top anyway.

Here is an example

I wish someone would come up with the design and process to do this in India. Then we would make a proper looking SUV out of the Dmax for 2-3 lakhs more.

I drove the V-Cross over proper dirt tracks, climbed inclines, descended gradients and did some mud plugging too. Most of it was in 1st & 2nd gear with AC on. The MID showed 8.9 kpl at that point of time. When I took a short spin on the empty highway near the Isuzu showroom in Pune, the MID figures improved and it displayed 9.6 kpl before I was back in the showroom.

Isn't that just a canopy? I have seen that on Tata Xenon and I am sure it will be available for Vcross too.

No it's a hard body not a canopy. My manager had one and used to store a lot of stuff in it all the time. Good place to protect the goods from elements.
