Im very skeptical about this 1.6 GT swift.
I feel its not going to happen.

Here danalan, found a link, saved you the trouble of Photoshopping one, in case you were thinking of it:

white swift would look good definately...white for me

I would definitely like the white and the yellow (the one in the 1.6 Swift Sport photo in another post).

The white colour swift is available here in Australia and there is also a Pearl White colour available here. But the red colour here is darker and not as great as the one we have in India.

Off topic, the swift here comes with a twin-cam 1.5L VVT engine and much more value for money considering all the features that comes with it.

Hi Santhosh,

Yes I agree with you that the Swift in Australia is much better value for money than it is here in India. I just returned to Chennai after finishing my MBA at Deakin Uni (Toorak Campus). I was there for almost 3 years. And I got to sit and explore the Swift there at the Melbourne International Motor Show in Feb-Mar 2006 - the quality of the switches, controls etc was really superb. All models displayed at the show were 1.5 litre versions (manual and automatic) with 15 inch alloys and 195/60/15 tyres, if I remember correctly.

I remember reading in one of the auto mags here that India lost out on the brand new 1.5L engine due to higher costs - it seems that engine would have pushed up the Swift's price here by Rs. 1 lakh - very few people would buy a top of the line 1.5L Swift for Rs. 6.3 lakh, even if it is with the new 1.5L engine, dual airbags, ABS with EBD etc.

I feel Maruti could have at least offered this 1.5L engine as an option - for those prepared to pay the higher price for more power and features.

Australia is a very different market compared to India - so many cars there are offered with more than 3-4 engine options including V4s and V6s on the higher end ones ..... I hope we get to see such options in the Indian market soon !!

Regards,
Venkat :-)

Wokay, hadda bit o time on me 'ands, so 'ere's some more colours fer you kids...

Still like (wifey too) the canary yellow.

nice job elf. the canary yellow looks the best. similar to the lancer sfxi which had the colour.
bubble gum pink can be bought by IKJYOT of jyot designl. LOL

I think Swift in White will look killer.

No vid6639: None of the Swifts above would be acceptable to a superior designer like Idjut.

For Mr. Idjut to find it worth his while, he'd need to lose those existing stupid headlamps & taillamps - headlamps shall be changed to those from the old Sonata, taillamps to be removed completely & the Mercedes W123 lamps fitted upside down in place after reshaping sheetmetal.

This, of course, after consulting the Daler Donkey.

Awesome work! The Cashmere Blue I've put up is very similar to the Barney Purple, from a visualization PoV

I've actually seen and sat in a White Swift at Vipul Motors, Faridabad.
This happened in April this year. I was told that it was a one-off made-to-order piece. Yet, they were willing to sell it to me. It was the LX model. Looked quite nice though I'd prefer the bumpers to be black for contrast.

Bright Yellow looks the best of the lot IMO.

But more than the colour, i think Maruti should introduce Clear lens tail-lamps like in the international version. Makes the ugly fat rear look a bit better.
Maybe Maruti will introduce clear lens in the "All new" version like it does for its every other car.

No LX for Swift. That must have been LXi.

My option would be for a blood red swift. The Honda has in OHC pre 99
