Nigel Harris, Ford India chief, moves to Ford China The Managing Director and President of Ford India's operations, Mr Nigel Harris, will take over as President of Ford's Chinese joint venture, Changan Ford Automobile from July 1, 2016.
Ford will announce the name of the successor to Mr Nigel Harris on a later date. Until then, Mr Anurag Mehrotra, the company’s Executive Director for Marketing, Sales and Service, will be carrying out the roles and responsibilities of a Managing Director, as per Ford's official announcement.
Mr Nigel Harris took over the reins of Ford's India operations on February 1, 2014. During his tenure, he oversaw Ford's expansion plans and their successful implementation through Ford's Chennai plant and later through their newly developed integrated facility at Sanand.
He also served as the brand development manager for Ford's global B-segment cars when they were introduced into the Indian market.
Mr Harris will succeed Mr Marin Burela, President of Changan Ford Automobile, who has recently announced his intention to retire on October 1 and has thus been moved to the position of Ford's Asia Pacific special advisor. ET
