Yes true, I was aware but just referring that it is a better evolved cross over from a hatch back not and merely a plastic cladded cross over.

I referred to both engines. Revotron is quite good too. I'm driving it since 18 months now. It's quite powerful and torquey.

I remember my last drive to Chennai when I was challenged by a DZire. Don't know why but he was trying to outdo me while I was cruising calmly. I just turned on to Sports' mode from 'City' mode and within a minute, he was not to be spotted in my rear view mirror!

While I do agree with you hands down that K12 is gem of an engine, that alone is a not a deal breaker for not considering a Zest. The Zest beats the whack out of DZire in every other aspect of the car as a product. The safest, comfortable and feature rich compact sedan out in the market.

+ 1

Revotron is the only turbo charged engine in the segment with the highest torque rating as well, 140 NM @ a low diesel like 1750 RPM, whereas the rest in the segment offer about 110 - 114 NM @ 4000 RPM, making city commute that much more easier with torque available across a wider bandwith.

Add to that, the fact that its the cheapest out there

New launches driving the auto industry on an upward growth. As many as 6 newly-launched cars now command long waiting periods!

I am amazed that Tiago has a waiting period this long. I checked with a dealer yesterday and was advised that most of the colors are readily available and desired color (if not in stock) may require 30 days.

He informed that the waiting is only for the base Diesel trim that too between 30 - 45 days (maximum). All other trims both in Petrol and Diesel are available.

Also on discounts, though on phone I was told "no" but the fellow used the word "Sir mil ke baat karte hai" !

Cheers !

BR-V is generating that kind of demand or some production issues at Honda's end? They have been realigning their production recently (Petrol vs Diesel)

They have 9000 bookings as of May, while the target announced was 3000 cars per month.

The info doesnt mention anything about the supposedly competitor to Fortuner & Endeavour, the Isuzu MU-7. Is it still in the market?

Major players fail to crack the MPV segment. Toyota's Innova and Maruti's Ertiga are the only successful players in this market!

The changing preferences of Indian buyers towards more feature-laden SUVs and crossovers along with the explosion of the compact SUV segment has some say to this story!

Chevrolet Tavera would stand 3rd in this list, if it is considered as MUV. Tavera used to clock a steady 2000 per month for many years. Only recently, it has slipped below 1000 per month levels.

Also, they seem to have forgotten about Mahindra Xylo
