I like when small engines flaunt such big HP numbers and take down engines twice its size

An example of 2L 4 cyl which sounded really good was the CLA 45 AMG, lets hope this also has a good engine/exhaust note

As per the top gear review here, it is producing 320hp from the engine and 80 odd hp from the electric motor.

Correct power specifications are:

2.0 Litre 4-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged petrol engine capable of 320 HP @ 5700 RPM and 400 Nm @ 2200 - 5400 RPM which drives the front wheels. Electrical motors assist with additional 87 HP and 240 Nm of torque by driving rear wheels. Thus, a combined power rating of 407 HP.

The recently imported XC90 T8 Twin engine has indeed been brought in the Excellence trim for homologation, as indicated on Volvo India official website.

Volvo is launching the XC90 Excellence in India, based on the T8 Plug-in Hybrid variant on 14 September.

The new Volvo XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid variant, called Volvo XC90 Excellence, will come with added features like perforated Nappa leather with massage function, ventilation and heating, cooling compartment in the rear seats, a touchscreen to configure the rear seats and more.

Moreover, the upcoming Volvo XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid will come with a Bower and Wilkins music system and a 4-seat configuration.

Range-topping XC90 Excellence gets Volvo’s twin-engine plug-in hybrid tech and a segment unique four-seater layout.

Volvo has launched its first hybrid vehicle in India, the XC90 T8 SUV. Priced at Rs 1.25 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), the XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid comes in only the top-spec Excellence trim.

With its hybrid engine and four-seater layout, the T8 edition has no direct rivals unlike its standard siblings that compete against SUVs like the Mercedes GLS, BMW X5 and the Audi Q7.

The XC90 Twin Engine is powered by a 320hp 2.0-litre, turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder petrol engine. The engine powers the front wheels that combines with an 87hp electric motor driving the rear wheels to bring a total output to 407hp. There is also a 25hp starter motor/generator between the petrol engine and gearbox, which helps smoothen the transition between the different drive modes and fill any torque gaps. Volvo claims an all-electric range of 40km for its petrol-hybrid SUV.
