re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched-mahindra-marazzo-instrument-cluster.jpg

With the image of the Instrument Cluster shared by Mahindra, can we make deductions about what all features is the MUV going to offer? I can note the following points:-

* On the Tachometer:
1. Cruise Control On (switched off) - Indicates presence of Cruise Control
2. Automatic Gearbox Warning (switched off) - Indicates an Automatic Gearbox in the vehicle
3. Key Not In Vehicle (switched off) - Indicates Keyless Operation
4. Press Clutch Pedal (switched off) - Another feature to start an Automatic vehicle
5. Tire Pressure Low (switched off) - Indicates TPMS
6. All Wheel Drive Disable (switched on) - Indicates presence of a 4x4 system

* Below the MID:
1. There seem to be 2 Seat Belt signs, one is on and the other off - Maybe a separate indicator for Front Passenger Seat Belt to switch the Passenger Air Bag on/off.
2. Low Fuel Warning Lamp
3. Brake Warning (switched off)

* Above the MID:
1. Indicators on both the ends.
2. Stability Control Off (switched off) - Indication ESP?
3. Stability Control (switched off)
4. Airbag Deactivated sign (switched off)
5. ABS Warning
6. Hill Hold Assist (switched off)
7. Hill Descent Control (switched off)

* On the Speedometer:
1. Only notable light is the Mahindra Micro-Hybrid Start/Stop Light (switched on)

Fellow BHP-ians, correct me if I am wrong about any symbol and it's universal meaning and it's indication in this car's instrument cluster. I could not notice the light for Automatic Lights and Wipers, even though I do not understand the need for that in any car. How long does it take to flick a switch to turn your light or wiper on/off? But in a MUV with so many nice features, that would have been good to have I guess for people buying this MUV.

This makes that incident a toss up- and tragic, but that speed?
This is new. I have heard of lack of speed stopping airbags from being deployed, but high speed preventing airbags from getting deployed !! Also, do you mean to say that unless the battery is connected and the main fuse is intact in a crash, the airbags are useless?

If there is a speed limit for airbag deployment, has Mahindra specified it? Anywhere? Such callousness - how is that excused?

This is not the image of the Marazzo. It's actually a rendering I made based on the spyshots. The real vehicle will a bit different.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks like the Ford S-Max?

Would the new JV with Ford have anything to do with it?

Maybe it does a little, but don't most of the MPVs look the same in profile? You may even say it looks like Lodgy or Ertiga or Innova Crysta. Just lengthen or shorten or pull up or down their jpg images, and you may end up with something similar for sure...

I think it should be manual if it says Press Clutch Pedal

Press Brake Pedal would be for Automatic as there wouldn't be a clutch pedal for Automatic.

When that XUV got hit and crushed that impact sensors will take hit first not the battery terminals. So disconnect of the battery reason should be ironed out. Its the sensors which has malfunctioned which didn't triggered the airbags. How much the speed was on that XUV , airbags should have got deployed.

Pretty ignorant post.
FYI women are the majority in color and trim of any car company and now are also taking over interior design so your " masculine" cars are done by more women than you think. I can't understand what you meant by those sentences.
And that battery disconected before crash is laughable, the impact point is where the sensors are located, the sensors have time to fire up the airbags before the jolt can even reach the battery.

The MPV is named marazzo and is pronounced Maradzo as it's an Italian word for shark

Mahindra Marazzo spotted at a yard, shows its interior

Looks like M&M have sent display units to select dealers already. IAB has managed to snap a few pics of a Marazzo under wraps at a dealer yard.

Seems to be an entry / lower mid level variant.

re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

Nice to see rear Captain seats. Competition (Ertiga, BRV) does not have such option. This can help Mahindra compete with products all the way from Ertiga, BRV to HEXA, INNOVA.

Dashboard appears to be of good quality materials and clean design !! Hoping Mahindra has a winner here and that should help the segment in general

re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

A clear shot of the Dash Layout has showed up on IAB (https://indianautosblog.com/2018/08/...evealed-312337)

Appears to be a clean layout and the use of textures and materials gel well as compared to their earlier attempts. The steering seems to be inspired by the SsangYong models.

Edit : Volkman has already posted the image

Why is it that most cars have the infotainment system below the eye level? Mahindra seems to have made a similar error.:
