Not the usual quirky design, but definitely a quirky description.
Especially given that such a lever in an aircraft is for the throttle

Ideal for city cabs where you don't need power but lot of space. Attractive styling might eat some share from Ertiga till its 1.5 litre variant is launched.

Thank you cs rajesh,

You are right & I just read through the Autocar review & first drive of the Marazzo. M&M have come up with some odd hybrid of monocoque with a ladder frame - apparently to garner the benefits of both types of structure! Time will tell plus of course the box-office sales!

But at the end of the day it remains a FWDer which, coming from M&M, is disappointing.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Seems to be neither here nor there product, which is not a bad thing considering the void in this price range! But buyers will surely have more choice for a proper 7 seater. Would have been the pick of the lot if it had bigger engine.

Buyer would choose between top-end Ertiga VS lower version of Marazzo or Base version Hexa VS top-end Marazzo. To make things complicated, Innova has received an update for the GX which makes it a reasonable buy.

Disappointing to note that Marrazzo is front wheel drive despite being body on ladder frame. One of reason of Innova 's success was it being rear wheel driven vehicle which is great puller when going uphill.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

A commendable effort from Mahindra. The looks are in offensive and the interiors pleasing.
As a package, Mahindra has ticked most of the right boxes.
However, I feel that for a van to sell in India the only thing that matters is image and what the public perceives of it. The Innova is at the higher end of the spectrum and the Ertiga at the lower end. Both have managed to capture the pulse of the prospective customer.
If this needs to sell Mahindra needs to project it either as a better option to the Ertiga without a massive premium over it or almost does everything that an Innova does but cheaper. Lets see how it shapes up.
Having said all this I feel this should sell for Mahindra.

Yet to see it in the flesh, but in the pictures and videos, the rear light cluster looks ridiculously large. Otherwise a clean design with none of the usual Mahindra quirks.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

I liked the design - as I wrote in another post, being clean is a good thing for Mahindra!! I dislike the pricing for base variant - 8 seater; just for the extra 4K, most states will have to pay the tax in the higher bracket. What a silly thing to miss on such a well built car. The 9.99L should have been for the 8 seater, with the 9.94L for 7 seater variant.

It's unfortunate that this is an under powered car after having 120 PS at disposal - is it heavier than the Innova with 105 PS power? Again, a little sad that the boot space is also minimal - when you want a people mover, why do manufacturers skimp on the boot space!! Like the interiors too and the space on offer. And yes, I'd loved to have a 6 airbag variant too.

Would this pose a threat to Ertiga - I doubt. Slots in between and I am sure it'll have it's own market.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

I may be the odd one out here but I think that Marazzo looks fabulous. It is bigger than Ertiga and Lodgy with the total length being the same as XUV. This should be as large as Innova. Looks like a good choice for taxi operators too. Of course, the success will be a factor of the reliability and maintenance costs and for these, only time will tell.

Not surprising at all. The Xylo is probably the only MPV which can comfortably seat an adult in the third row. If this is anywhere near as spacious, this would be a USP by itself.

There is no mention of Ground Clearance anywhere.
Does any one have any information about the Marazzo's Ground Clearance? (Unladen)

The laden GC I saw in the specs is 167mm. So I guess the unladen GC should be above 190mm though it is not mentioned anywhere.

A pretty good attempt by Mahindra!

There is a clear vacant spot for a 7/8 seater between the the Ertiga and the Innova and Mahindra have gone for it!

Still not convinced by the overall design, some angles show that the proportions are not clean, especially the rear quarter window. And the rear hatch door is almost flat, a picture of the rear hatch door reveals a perfect rectangle, well almost a square shaped boot!

The lodgy is dead, so comparisons are not going to help. On the other hand, the Hexa I think is targeted at a different customer, more lifestyle than pure MUV, so some one who wants to buy the Hexa, may look at the XUV, not the marazzo.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

The vehicle is looking pretty decent except for the tail lights. Fit and finish seems to be top notch. Will have to wait for the team-bhp review. The autocar review looks a bit sugar coated.
