If I am not wrong, the model shown is the one available in US/America. We are likely to get the one launched in Thailand.

We are getting the RHD Drive of this version.

IMHO this looks sleeker and more modern than the outgoing one. I also love the fact that Toyota has been conservative in the chrome quotient for this face-lift.

I just hope the interior quality standards has been improved. The switches etc. on the current Altis look like they have come from the Etios parts bin.

The Altis Facelift, in all likelihood, will launch on March 17. This is as per the owner of a dealership of TKM. He says product training of the staff will take place next week.

I spoke to Ravindu Toyota salesperson yesterday. She said it's not true. They haven't got any intimation about it yet. They expect launch in May or more likely June.

Rumour: Toyota Corolla Altis facelift to launch on March 15

Are there variants with >6 airbags now?

Whats the use of a facelift if you don't add any safety features.

Corolla has to come with 6 airbags and hybrid to keep it self attractive. It doesnt even have a Sunroof or Rear Ac Vents.

I used to own the previous Gen Corolla Altis. My car was more luxurious and interior quality was far better than this version. Even had more features.

Why would anyone buy a Corolla when City ZX has all this and more ?

Only answer which comes to mind is that Corolla and Civic have a better build quality and are more stable on the highway. Otherwise City, Rapid, etc are more feature laden than the Corolla

Hi Toyota, why even bother? Because you are running out of kits for current version?

The diesel engine and the safety features (the lack of it) do not even belong to the C segment, let alone D!! :deadhorse

I have a feeling that the Corolla is superior to City ZX in following ways:

1. Ride Quality & stability
2. Looks, Appearance & Presence
3. Quality of Materials
4. More space inside thanks to significantly larger dimensions.
5. Competent petrol engine, which has very usable power in low/mid rpms. Apt for Indian conditions.

The Corolla is after all from a higher segment. It is expected to be better on various parameters. :thumbs up

Many of the above differences are intangible & subtle.
For me, Luxury is not always about equipment (like some touchscreen, and other gizmos). :D

However, it all depends on the buyer, if he/she wants that little bit more polish, then he can put down the money and get what he wants.

The new Corolla arrives at dealerships in Brazil. New Corolla will have stability control and XRS version.

I think we should wait till launch than conclude that new version doesnt have 6 Airbags

The City ZX for all its competence can't match a Corolla. Nor can the Vento or any other C segment sedan. On paper yes, but the overall experience is very different.

I hope they do something about the interior quality though, the current car's interiors don't feel like an upgrade from my 3rd gen City. The previous gen Corolla definitely had a better cabin. Also, additional safety features are much needed to justify the 20L price tag.
