Congratulations! Did you have to push hard for outside insurance? In Hyderabad no dealer is offering to sell if you take outside insurance.

Seems dealers are themselves pushing the customers to go for a 2017 Fortuner. But deliveries are being promised only after mid-Feb (2017 car).

It is illegal for a dealer to push customer to buy insurance from them.
Speak with Toyota and also threaten to involve IRDA into the matters.
Alternatively ask for the dealer to match the quote from the market.

Thanks. I did visit on thursday and yesterday. The team told me you had asked to meet me. Would have loved to catch up.

This part was way too narrow, specially the entry where the concrete shoulders were jutting out, so more than wading it was driver skill to slot it in perfectly & hence this part was not the best executed.

If we went any wider, we would damage tree roots. So no other option than this width. :(

Difficulty level was Easy to Medium & the fun was limited but controlled.

Mumbai was the tamest track in terms of difficultly because of limited track options. Delhi and Bangalore were at a much higher level. Will wait for the bhpians from those cities to report. Want to hear and learn from mistakes

Congratulations Karan. It was abundantly clear to me that you would go for a MT only since that was one of the biggest grouse from your end against Ford Endeavour. So your old Fortuner is replaced with this?

The deliveries have already started in Mumbai. Just now saw a Phantom Brown one on road, was behind me and overtook a little later. And boy, does it make its presence felt on road, absolutely robust and the Phantom Brown one looks damn good too!

1st initial lot of Fortuners will have the Engine and transmission imported & will not be locally made at the new GD series plant here in India.

Got it rechecked here, only 6 Speed Gearbox is Imported as they don't produce this in India, Engine is the same as they use in Innova- Made in India. I could not make any differences between Innova & Fortuner visibly either. But many components are from Thailand, some parts have stickers on both with COO.

Kind of reinforce our belief regarding the air pressure! Let me see if i can get a test drive over weekend here in bangalore.

I test drove an Automatic again today, don't know why but the engine was definitely making more noise than when I drove the TD cars earlier. Now 1000 Km is too little for an engine to sound differently unless someone also shares same feedback I will leave initial impressions to do with overall hype with a new product. Besides I experienced lot's of the bump today and ride was definitely different from my earlier drives, the sales guy was adamant on correct tyre pressure but I have doubts, perhaps others can share their feedback. Overall I came back disappointed and now need to go back to Ford guys to negotiate something better for the Titanium they are holding in stocks

Not sure who you asked but when i asked it was some one directly coordinating with the plant for dispatches & also before mentioning it here i cross checked with the head office.

Not sure yet, but hopefully both the Fortuners may co-exist together.

Why M/T again ? Because, changing gears is the best feeling while driving such SUV's.

Ace, thanks a lot. YES, i would have loved to pick up the Endy if the larger 3.2 5cyl was available with an M/T.

Not sure, this might co-exist with the existing one.
