Kodiaq is priced close to Superb in UK and I think the pricing strategy would be similar in India as well.

Snapped these while going back from office. Looks like the vehicle was going to ARAI Kothrud Pune, for some validations.

I really loved the vehicle in flesh.
According to me it showcased some Station Wagon DNA, of which, I am a fan.

Loved the proportions. And if they price it correctly, its first victim will be the Tiguan

This is just such a stunning looking car - I really wish one could pick Skodas eyes shut. As usual the typical clean lines that all VAGs sport. The interior looks much richer than the competition too.

Personally, if I have to change my expensive car in a couple of years, I don't think I will have appetite for diesel. Will either have to be a fuel efficient petrol or even better a hybrid.

But yes indeed - I'm a fan of station-wagons too (we are a breed on the verge of extinction in India!) and that is the primary thing I loved about the Kodiaq's looks too! Very proportionate too.

The car seems to be wearing heavily tinted glasses which are good. However, funny how this/snap on window shades are legal and pretty transparent sun films are not. But that's a different topic discussed a zillion times already...

Looks like the sheet metal is not so robust. It does not appear to be a forceful hit because it does not appear to be a deep crevice. Yet the surface is cracked up. I know weight reduction is a key target, but the tough European DNA is getting diluted faster than in the VW cars. Even the new Octavia has less of the vault like build quality as compared to the old Laura & Jetta.

Kodiaq looks very promising from the product point of view. I hope Skoda also doesn't go the VW way and overprice it like the Tiguan. If they are able to price it competitively they have a winner in their hands. Eagerly waiting for the launch. :-)
