7,657 Hyundai Eons recalled for issue with clutch & battery cables Hyundai India has announced a recall for 7,657 units of the Eon hatchback, manufactured in January 2015, to inspect the clutch and battery cables, and a possible problem of both cables intertwining with each other.
The company has said in a emailed statement that it has initiated a service campaign for the above-said problem, and if the clutch cable is found to be fouling with the battery cable, then the damaged battery cable will be replaced free of charge. If left untreated, this problem may eventually cause a short-circuit and ignite a fire inside the engine bay.
Hyundai Eon customers of the specified period will be notified in a phased manner for inspection of their cars. In addition, the company has also asked owners of all affected Eon cars to take them to the nearest authorised Hyundai dealers. Live Mint |
