Released.

Aveo u-va's rolled out too..
The Hindu Business Line : GM rolls out Chevrolet Aveo U-Va
Just a 1.2 for now. Priced between 4 to 5 lakhs.
Typical GM offering. *Expensive*, comfortable, average performance.

Now I dont know what gm is thinking here,the 1.2 litre engine to compete with the 1.3 swift, here are some tech specs:

U-Va == 1150cc
Swift == 1298cc

U-Va == 72bhp@5400rpm
Swift == 87bhp@6000rpm

U-Va == 104Nm@4400rpm
Swift == 113Nm@4500rpm

A 1.2 ltr engine benefits from tax sops I guess. Still, GM has totally ruined Aveo's pricing . It's only a matter of time before it becomes the next Corsa.
These foreign manufacturers should stay away from the small car market, or atleast partner an Indian manufacturer. Fiat may have actually done a smart thing, by partnering Tata.

Let car hit street. Let auto magazines test drive car before we make judgment.
Hatchbacks are mainly aimed at city driving where high power doesn't have that much importance but ease of drive matters.

Ease of driving means a good turque at low revs... Right??? But, the figures dont justify that either... Don't know what GM is considering to do, pricing it between 4L and 5L

Pricing is pretty good I think.
LT at 4.65 ex-bangalore looks quite attractive. It comes with 185/60 R14 Alloy Wheels, fog lamps and body coloured everything, ground clearance is 188mm and the boot isnt too bad at all at 220L!
But the only downside (from my initial take) is the 8V SOHC 1150cc engine.

Hi all

Todays paper carries an article saying that the UVA is finally released. Can anyone confirm if this is true and if so any early reports from the chevy showrooms?
