Mahindra e2o two-door removed from official website - RIP

The Mahindra e2o two-door electric hatchback has been removed from the carmaker's official website. Mahindra's electric portfolio now has only three listed models: the e2oPlus, the eVerito and the eSupro. This suggests that the automaker might discontinue the two-door electric hatchback from the Indian market.

This step has been taken after Mahindra launched a four-door iteration, called the e2oPlus, in the Indian market. The e2oPlus offers everything that the two-door model did, while adding a slightly longer range and the practicality of four doors. This has made the standard e2o redundant, which might have forced Mahindra to discontinue the model.

However, the two-door e2o will most likely continue to be exported to the UK. The company is also planning to enter the booming Chinese electric-car market.

Yes, the two door old E2O is discontinued.
But there are still some cars unsold, expect some good discounts on these cars now.

Unfortunate, the two door looks better than the four door variant. For a buyer using the Reva as his second car (city commuter), it would have been nice to have the option of the smaller more attractive car.

Shouldn't have been very difficult for M&M to continue this variant, since it is still being produced and service functions are common with the four door. Seems to be their way of forcing customers onto a more expensive product?

They had to.

For one, the 2-door variant was selling in the mere two digits each month. Even a flop product requires resources to be on sale in the market.

Second, and more importantly, it's to change the perception that EVs / E2Os aren't practical. The 4-door E2O is more of a 'conventional' car (4 doors, more legroom etc.).

The official statement at the e2oPlus launch was "We'll continue to sell the 2-door for as long as there is demand"
