re: Maruti Ciaz shifts to Nexa dealerships

So, it seems that the same engines are retained. Pity, the anemic engines are the one thing holding the Ciaz back from being a complete, well balanced car. When will Maruti understand that mileage isn't paramount for that segment!

Which city is this? I hear discounts in Delhi are only 10k excluding exchange bonus.

When the average Indian car buyer understands the same. Which is NEVER.

Remember the series of ads that concentrated on Kitna deti hai? Well, that is Maruti's primary focus.

Just a cursory glance at the reviews of cars two-three segments higher than Ciaz will show you our obsession with mileage.

For enthusiasts like you, there is always the option of getting hold of that wolf in sheep's clothing, otherwise known as S Cross 1.6 .

We are obsessed with mileage, but with premium cars come premium expectations, and since Maruti has aspirations towards entry luxury cars, they should also cater to such expectations. There are cars that cater to such expectations with decent fuel economy, like the Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, etc. To my mind, that would be one of the reasons for the Ciaz to be switched to NEXA, and, by extension, one of the reasons for the NEXA brand itself.

As far as the S-Cross 1.6, it's all good except they've forgotten to put an automatic on their most expensive car, while their cheapest gets one (AMT, but still)!

I got this offer from a dealer in Noida and another in Ghaziabad. Around 2 weeks back.

I enquired for the petrol AT variant. Though IIRC this discount was across the range.

Sir, Face lift was never delayed it was always planned for a Feb~Mar '18 launch. Face lift will happen along with the new 1.5L P/D engines.

Maruti chalks out plans to stop using FIAT engines in the long run- 2020 is the planned horizon - BS VI compliant.

The 1.5L engine by MS will debut in Ciaz and Ertiga in 2018, before it being phased on to other models. The new engine will be BS VI compliant!

Let's see how Fiat reacts to this!!!

Maruti is perhaps their biggest engine-customer in this country

re: Maruti Ciaz shifts to Nexa dealerships

So its just a shift from one showroom to another. Can't fathom the thought behind this. It should have either been updated with engines/features to make it a different product proposition for NEXA. Or they could have simply waited till the facelift and then shifted to NEXA.

Wishful thinking - are they discreetly planning a new sedan for Maruti showrooms?

Moving Ciaz from Normal to NEXA without any change in price should ideally have huge benefits for MSIL.

1. The car has been accepted well enough to dethrone City for few months last year (Thanks to SVHS). So they are going to add a trusted/accepted car into NEXA rather than a new car. NEXA cars are usually considered premium so if the prices do not change, its going to be a big win for supposed NEXA feel

2. One of the Issues which would affect them is the reach normal showrooms have when compared to NEXA outlets. But to be fair to them, there are close to 250 odd NEXA outlets now across and Ciaz penetration outside Tier A/B cities would ideally not be huge so they can live with some loses.

3. With the 2017 City priced SO MUCH above Ciaz, it would have really made MSIL guys jumping with Joy. They will now launch the face-lift by first quarter of 2018 with huge updates and still undercut City by a small margin. Imagine if that Succeeds!

4. I always thought till last week that the new Dzire is greater than 4m so that they can justify a good premium over the current one and still have only one sedan in regular showrooms . It's only recently that Carma2017 has positively confirmed that it is still Sub 4m. So that confusion is still there as to whether a new sedan is on it's way. There are no news of a new sedan anywhere till now and I am supremely confident MSIL cannot keep that big a secret from Team-BHP spies!

re: Maruti Ciaz shifts to Nexa dealerships

Ciaz spotted at a NEXA dealership in New Delhi, looking at the absence of front fog lamps, this is probably the base trim.

Spotted this Silver CIAZ with different rear emblem placement at Nexa in Delhi in evening today. Also followed it for some time. The MSIL badge was not there and SHVS emblem shifted to upper corner of the boot. The Nexa guy told me that they'll be getting this car very soon so I am guessing that it would reach NEXA in a week or so. He also hinted that there might be some changes in it.

re: Maruti Ciaz shifts to Nexa dealerships

Will Ciaz in its Nexa disguise ever play the catchup game with Honda City w.r.t sunroof, cruise control etc.
