You can use Paytm or any Rupay Credit/ Debit cards which don't charge any surcharge. You can get a Rupay Platinum card from Paytm Payments Bank at 100/year plus GST. Also has lounge access at airports.

Rupay cards don't have any surcharges for fuel.

Had an interesting situation last time I used AMEX card at couple of HP outlets, where I got 0.75% discount at POS as well as cashback in the card statement.

Looks like it is going to be discontinued from next month!

As advised by Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies, the 0.75% cashback (capped at a maximum of Rs.45 per transaction) that you earn on fuel transactions on your Card will be discontinued, effective October 1, 2019.

Is it discontinued only for credit card transactions or for all forms of digital payment? I was of the opinion that NEFT etc will still get the benefit.

The funny thing was I used to get a discount even on the turbo points redeemed on my IOCL card

I think Citibank/IOCL card dosen't charge the transaction fee for using it's card at IOCL outlets. Needs to be seen.
