They're keeping mum on the 1.4 T-jet FE ratings, since quite obviously it wont be anything to brag about.
I doubt all those features will be offered either.. if it is, I'm not sure how they'd manage to keep costs low. |
4.0 l / 100 Km is 25 Kmpl, not 20Kmpl.
after all these months of waiting madly...still we get is pure speculation or not-so-sure information on Linea
.Only Fiat Linea can stretch ppl's hopes for so long :) that itself tells us how good a car Linea is.
Hey amit sorry- G3HC or ANHC dosent have 6 airbags and yes its true Lineas mileage is more as the ANHC has more power (118 PS). Hey maybe Honda's service maybe bad but it is slightly better than Fiat. Got any news about launch!
Or how poor Fiat's launching capability and market vision is. People only wait for so long before they settle on another model. Fiat should understand that they are not the only people making cars in this world. For some elusive reason, they keep things under wraps till the last possible moment and then expect a miracle in sales.

hey thanks but its all real except yes- there was a mixup but not exactly one but Honda's service is slightly better than Fiat and of course you do get the problem solved although the costs are high. My friend had to shell out Rs. 18000 for only mediocre cosmetic problem of his new honda city ZX 10th anniversary. OH god why wont fiat hurry with the linea? And they will somehow screw it up with the issue of high price or something like that!

Where did you get these details about the Linea from? Did the dealer tell you all this? Auto Headlights (Darkness sensor), Parking and rain sensors, 6 Airbags(!!), ESP(!!). That's one loaded car. If all this is true then Fiat isn't going to push the envelope but blast it ahead in the C segment. Where did you get the mileage for both Linea and G3HC from? I don't think the Linea petrol will give 17kmpl in city and I don't think it can be more fuel efficient then the G3HC. And the top end variant with all of this at 9.1 lacs, 34K less then G3HC?! By the way, the G3HC doesn't come with 6 airbags, EBD and ESP. Your comparo shows these as avaliable on the HC.
As for the 'superb service' from Honda, have you gone through some of the Honda service threads out here? No denying that Honda service is better then Fiat, but can it be classified as 'Superb'? |

That may not be quite the case. Feature to feature if you compare Fiat's models they are far superior to anything that the competition has. But Fiat has unfortunately failed in India because of poor after sales support. Once they sell you a car they sort of disown you. Fiat owners are treated like step children by Tata Motors dealers. In virtually every city in India the Fiat dealer is perhaps the most shady guy in town. This is no way to establish a brand in India.
Fiat is a classic example of how it's not enough to have a great product for a brand to be successful.
Let's just hope things improve with the latest model.
Hey just so that you all dont lose faith in Fiat and its impending Linea Launch here are some pictures on the right hand Active version of the soon to be launched Linea (courtesy: TheHorse)
Keep holding on for a month more!
i hope whatever u say comes true dude
In Bangalore, A.S.S is not a problem. I'm ready to book right away for the 120bhp MJD. Come on fiat. Make a soft launch so that we can all know the specs. I also hope that Petes will have a tuning box for the 1.6L MJD. As far as I know, Petes does not sell tuning boxes for engines that are not available in European market and 1.6 MJD is not available in Europe. But then 120bhp MJD!! I can live with that. Dream...... give us the 6 gears dualogic gear box as well :)
Guys I'm not sure about 120bhp Multijet, All I can confirm is 1.3L 90bhp Multijet with VGT (I saw that engine personally yesterday in one of test mules) believe me, it was very silent and I could not feel any diesel vibrations on the car bonnet (may be engine was hot already as a result of test run). But it was definitely better than swift DDiS.
I wish I could get test drive of that car. BTW it was Linea emotion and all I could figure out from closed windows was
- steering mounted audio controls
- quality material (atleast to my eyes it looked very good quality)
- leather seats
- atleast twin airbags (not sure about 6 airbags)
- regular aircon ( no automatic climate control..might be with emotion + variant)
- HUGE legspace ( both front and rear)
- handrest for driver seat
Last week , i met a person working for Tata Motors looking after Fiat dealerships. Allthough, he is not a Car enthu (Say, he does not know whats a Blue & Me) He candidly said that a soft launch would be made in mid Dec and cars would be available in Showrooms only in 2009. He mentioned that it would be terrific Value for Money car ( even compared to Tata cars ) and prices starts from 7 lacs.

A 120 BHP Fiat Petrol engine giving 16.7 kmpl average is a fantasy:uncontrol. if it gives even half of what is claimed I think FIAT has achieved great milestone on FE.
