The source is reliable. Infact I have been told by them earlier that the launch may take place in Quarter4 of the year.

Several stories are doing the rounds on Linea's launch. A fiat sales guy from B'lore showroom [the first s/r in India to get aligned to Fiat's global novelty store 'red & white' layout] insists very assuredly that Linea is getting launched end of June this year, between 6-8 lakhs price tag [ex-showroom, of course].

I've even mentioned his details in my post on the 'fiat to revamp it's image' thread...

Just don't know whom to bank on with the 2 impending fiat launches.

The Car show in NDTV profit a few weeks back did a feature on the Linea. They spoke of a early next year launch??

Bank on what the company and auto mags quoting company sources say.

Linea has a probable October 08 launch and the GP is supposedly coming in January 09.

Is Fiat re-designing the car? They just have to reproduce what has been produced elsewhere. I don't know why they keep postponing.

thankfully they are not re-designing. had they done so, it would have taken them another 5 years to launch

few of the member guys have seen them testing on the road doesn't find a reason for the delay

The sales of fiat is also on the positive side after the launch of MJD
this could really help them score on that

Well guys i have 7 pics of the linea on my phone. It was being driven on the expressway between pune and mumbai and the surprising part was that there was no camoflague. I could not take many pics as i didnt want to annoy the people inside.
All i can say was the car looked great and it had no body colored bumpers. The alloys are the spoke kind of alloys and also the front end of the car is not a straight line but has the middle slightly protruding.
The radiator grill is slightly huge. The rear had a slight touch of civic.

Will surely post pics tommorow

@ Maddy- Did you by any chance click any pic of the interiors.
And yeah most of the cars tested are without camoflauge. Guess they know Tushky is around

I wonder why Fiat tests their cars without any camouflage. Even the Grande Punto was clicked inside their plant without any camouflage.

Maybe they are waiting for the money to be wired from Italy for the camouflages!

I am not too sure why Fiat should camouflage Linea. The car has been shown in its entirety in various auto shows. There are a whole bunch of auto journalists who have tested it in Turkey and they have reported their opinions in their magazines. They all have shown many photographs of the car. From the comments of Fiat India top brass, there does not seem to be any exterior changes to this vehicle from what is there in Turkey. Again, I do not think they will do any significant interior changes. So, in my opinion, there is no need for them to camouflage these cars.

Even Fabia, when it was tested extensively for many months in Bangalore, was not camouflaged. They only had removed the Skoda badge and the Petrol/Diesel/Engine capacity badge. Maybe, they thought that people would mistake it for a Swift, ...

Put the pics up soon. It will be a rocking car . Only the company needs an image of an upmarket car rather than hot hatches like the palio 1.6

Yes. Please put the pics. ACI has put the test drive of VW Jetta as well. I just want the Fiat JTD, not something else. This is what is going to hold me from going ahead with Corolla, Avante, Jetta, etc. Looks like it is going to be a long lineup of new launches in August to October.
