Sorry, I was looking at the power curve when I said 135Nm of torque by 1.3 JTD at 2200 rpm. It produces almost 200Nm torque at that rpm.

I was googling about the dualogic gearbox (with both manual and automatic options). I read this link Fiat launches a ‘sequential manual’ gearbox Punto – the DuaLogic It was a nice read.

On a slightly difference note, is it just me or that GP in red looks hot? Why are Fiat taking so long to launch it???

I hope it's not delayed any further and that they price it well (unlike the Fabia).

I got a note from the Fiat folks and here is what they had to say about Linea:

"Linea will be launched in the 4th qrtr of this year. It will be available both in Petrol and dsl versions. The other details will be updated in the web site time to time. (www.fiat-india.com)"

Sounds like a diwali release!

In a nutshell, it is an automatic gearbox, that allows manual shifting and comes with a clutch pedal. The automatic mode is proved to be more fuel efficient than the manual mode. At the same time, it is smart enough to give the power when the driver needs.

I havent heard very nice things about the dualogic gearbox at all. The gear shift is supposed to be very jerky in automatic mode at low speeds.

PS: I had read this on reviews posted by GP Dualogic owners from Oz.

What is the ad about? The Palio Multijet or 500? Or something to do with the Linea? On what channel did you get to see it?

I think the place shown is a winter testing place by FIAT in Spain. I read in mags that it is a frozen lake. It is one of the remote towns in Spain.

It is in Sweden, not Spain. ACI and BSM had written articles about the testing some months back.
