Linea kerb weight is 1160-1185 kg.
Swift Dzire's kerb weight is 1090(Ldi)
1105(Vdi)
1115(Zdi).

So atleast its weight difference of 45kg. With 75 bhp, this is not that less a difference. Moreover the engine is quite small at 1248cc.

If the bravo has a 150bhp motor, why would they drop a 90bhp engine into a larger car? I am sure they will have a few engine options..

Its a nicely choreographed ad, you would like it! seen it on biz (CNBC) and news (CNN-IBN) channels, the ad features GP, Linea, Bravo and finally the 500.

Bravo is a hot hatch and a lifestyle product where as Linea is more of a functional car.

Oh cool! That sounds like a good advert. Its high time they start showing off their automotive prowess. I can imagine an ad like that going down well with the people, letting them know that Fiat is serious about India. The message coveyed through this ad should be " We're back!"

I just had a word with the Bangalore Concorde guys ( with a very reliable source). He told me that they are expecting the vehicle in the first week of September. No idea about the price and the models that will be available.

This will be very interesting. I am sure people are eagerly waiting to know which engine options they would actually come to India with. Fiat surely is coming in a big way, I do hope they concentrate equally on A.S.S.

Thank you for the information. Rumours of any delay would kill me as I'm one of those waiting for longest time for this car. The day they announce the models available for India, I'm going to book immediately.

What is the upper limit budget wise ? I mean, what is the maximum you would be willing to pay OTR for Linea?

13L for a dualogic gear box top end. I'm expecting the price to be at least a lakh or two less than this though. But if they surprise me with higher price, this is the limit for me. Beyond this, I would rather look for something else.

I am just amazed at the kind of interest the Linea is generating. I never expected this for a FIAT, given the condition the company is perceived to be in
