re: The Mahindra TUV300 Plus. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh

The pic of the brochure uploaded above says the TUV 300 Plus has "antiroll technologies". The smaller TUV 300 doesn't have this, whatever it is. Would it be the same as the antiroll 'stability control' that we get in the Tata Hexa?

IMHO Xylo is still the more spacious one amongst the two in comparison. Middle and last row didn't seem as spacious as Xylo in TUV 300+ P4. It had side facing seats in the last row, a front facing one would have better for comparison. But it's safe to assume that with the front facing 3rd row seat placement the space for luggage would be minimal in TUV 300+ as well like it's in Xylo or XUV 500.

One look at the side profile of this vehicle and "Oh No" comes out of my mouth even before I could realize.

Fancy term for anti roll bar?

This looks much better than the TUV itself. Looks much more well proportioned. Interesting competition building in the Innova space (by utility / application, not price :P)

There is one more UV planned by Mahindra. Dont know how the product hierarchy will work?

Considering the only P4 varaint. IMHO this will be placed below upcoming MUV. This might be mahindra's strategy to place TUV300 in Tier I and II cities as a cheap people mover. New MUV might take directly on Innova Crysta wrt power and features with some lower price benefit.

Mahindra TUV300 Plus priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh

Mahindra has revealed the pricing for the TUV300 Plus on its website. The SUV is offered in a single variant (P4) and costs Rs. 9,69,695 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Mahindra TUV300 Plus. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh-tuv300-plus2.jpg

The TUV300 Plus is a stretched version of the TUV300 with an overall length of 4,400 mm. The width and height are rated at 1,835 mm and 1,812 mm respectively. The wheelbase remains the same at 2,680 mm. It comes equipped with a 60-litre fuel tank.

The TUV300 Plus looks similar to the standard version. At the front, it has a 5-slat grille, angular headlamps and a rectangular air dam in the front bumper. The vehicle gets squared-off wheel arches and a tweaked rear end, which comes with new wrap-around tail lights and a tail gate mounted spare wheel. The 3rd-row quarter glass is larger than the TUV300.

On the inside, the 9-seater TUV300 Plus gets dual-tone interiors, a twin-pod instrument cluster and side-facing third row seats. The features list includes power steering, power windows, air-conditioning, internally adjustable ORVM and central locking. Safety features like child locks, seat belt warning, door ajar warning, anti-theft steering lock and side intrusion beams come as standard.

The SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which produces 120 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque @ 1,800-2,800 rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The TUV300 Plus is available in four colour options - Bold Black, Majestic Silver, Dynamo Red and Glacier White.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh

Is this car aimed at Taxi segment only? Inclusion of ABS and airbag would have made it a decent people carrier, maybe even an upgrade to the ageing bolero/sumo !

Going by the pictures, no alloys, black ORVMs, wheel caps etc this indeed looks aimed at the cab segment(yellow board).

This link (TUV 300 plus) talks about it being available unofficially since 6 months. Who are those users? And is it available only in these 3 states(TN, GJ & JH) mentioned?

After being on sale unofficially in many states for more than six months, the TUV300 Plus has been officially launched by Mahindra in a single variant, called P4, priced at Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

...

The vehicle is priced at Rs 9.46 lakh in Tamil Nadu, Rs 9.72 lakh in Jharkhand and Rs 9.55 lakh in Gandhinagar, Gujarat (all prices, ex-showroom).

Wondering if it makes sense or not - a TUV 300 plus (P4 variant, not even top end) for 10L ex showroom when the XUV 5OO base variant starts at 12.32!

Was on sale already, just wasn't launched officially. Had seen one upclose in a Bangalore showroom two weeks back.

The decision of launching a new(ish) vehicle priced close to ~12L Rupees on road without even basic safety features should be deemed criminal, irrespective of its intended usage.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh

So, let me get this straight.

The TUV300 is based on the 3rd generation ladder-frame chassis used in the new Scorpio.

The Scorpio used to have only the 120 Bhp mHawk engine.

The TUV300 Plus is a stretched version of the TUV300, and has the 120 Bhp mHawk engine.

So, basically, the TUV300 Plus is kinda the 120 Bhp mHawk-engined Scorpio in a new skin?

It could have certainly challenged the Scorpio - the probable reason why Mahindra reduced the TUV 3OO plus to only one (taxi) variant.

Like GTO says -

In almost every area (quality, interiors etc.), the TUV300 feels superior to the Scorpio. Only restriction was the 3-cylinder diesel. Now with the 4-cylinder, it's a match. And there's the enhanced space too!
