True. Doesn't make sense for the personal / urban customer. However, there is a huge chunk of the big UV market that will never touch a monocoque. Body-on-frames are more robust, can be overloaded easily, are easier + cheap to repair and generally suffer less damage in an accident.

Agree with you on this. I was looking forward to the P10 variant of this beast, but looks like I need to consider something else now. Scorpio is at the end of it's life cycle and new one is to be launched in a year or two. If Maruti can sell things that co exist with each other, why not Mahindra?

Here is a detailed look. As GTO mentioned one can see this now as a replacement of Xylo for fleet operators. Expect this 9 seater to be seen frequently with 10+ people.

After much anticipation, Mahindra has finally launched the TUV300 Plus at Rs 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai)
Quote:
The SUV was earlier sold in some states to a few set of customers.
Quote:
The TUV300 Plus is powered by a larger 120hp, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Moreover, Mahindra has equipped the TUV300 Plus with micro hybrid technology, along with a brake energy regeneration system and an ECO mode to better fuel efficiency.

Quote:
Similar to the TUV300, Mahindra had again put Pininfarina to work on the interiors. Though the design of the cabin is largely identical to the TUV300, Mahindra says that Pininfarina has made necessary alterations in a bid to add more premium appeal. Talking about the premium quotient, the top-end variants of the TUV300 Plus will have seats wrapped in faux-leather along with other up-market features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation and host of connectivity options
Prices (ex showroom Mumbai)
P4 - ₹ 9.47 lakhs
P6 - ₹ 9.83 lakhs
P8 - ₹ 10.86 lakhs

Re: The Mahindra TUV300 Plus. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh

Has anyone been able to find a Brochure scan for TUV300 Plus yet? I mean the new brochure with all 3 variants mentioned, not the old brochure of just P4 variants which was shared earlier. If yes, kindly upload it here for others to peruse. What are the variant vise specifications of the P4, P6 and P8 variants?

Also, some auto mags claim that Dual Airbags and ABS with EBD are standard on TUV300 Plus, but I do not see any such thing in the P4 variant brochure or videos of models reviewed before this launch, can anyone confirm this.

Also, I can not still find any dedicated website for this, even after about 24 hours of launch of the vehicle.

Any TUV300 P4 owners from the forum? If yes, how is it to buy as a taxi vehicle in comparision to Ertiga, Lodgy, Xylo or B-RV?

9 seater!!

This could be the final nail in the coffin for the Xylo, specially if the cabbies show an affinity to this instead.

Cheers,
Vikram

Still the xylo design however ugly has better stance than the XUV 300 Plus, IMHO, especially the poor design of the elongated rear. Its definitely a compromise design. Mahindra should have employed Pininfarina to design the exterior as well, not just the interiors !

It's an utter disappointment that they are not providing forward facing 3rd row seats on any variant. I was so looking forward to it! What a miss Mahindra!

P4 doesn't get airbags and ABS!

P6 has body coloured ORVMs, fabric upholstery, ABS, and dual airbags compared to P4. Rest of the all goodies are only available in P8.

The price list from the website is below.

Re: The Mahindra TUV300 Plus. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh

Wonder why Mahindra launched the P4 variant first and then the P6 and P8?

Maybe there are more variants coming up? Maybe a P10? Does anyone have any leads regarding this?

There were reports of Mahindra offering different seat layout. if they do, it will have to be in a new top-end variant. If they don't do it, I think Mahindra made a big mistake. There are many who are looking forward to front facing seats.

Looking at the equipment list, there's hardly any difference between the P4 and P6 (except for cosmetic changes, airbags and ABS).

Hoping that Mahindra launches a P10 variant with different seat layouts and maybe a reverse camera (TUV300 T10 gets a system compatible with a reverse camera), and maybe those blackened out parts.

Yes I agree. That would give a more comfortable ride, especially for long distances and highway runs !

Re: The Mahindra TUV300 Plus. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh

Am I the only one here who thinks that the TUV300 Plus, with its given length, without its shorter sibling's roof rails, looks a lot like a poor man's Range Rover - at least in silhouette? That shape is timeless, but the design could have been sharper at the front. For me it looks too Plain Jane.

Hey aren't those the Mahindra Nuvosport's alloy wheels?

And, Mahindra, where is the 4x4?

While in normal mode the TUV300 Plus makes 120HP/280NM, in the ECO Mode, the outputs reduce to 94HP(69.87KW)/220NM as per the Owner's Manual.
