The video is very interesting for its highlighting (in red) of the rear suspension (2:09 min. and 4:54 min respectively, into the video)! From what I could see, it almost looked like an IRS, with slim articulated half-shafts projecting out of of the differential housing.

Maybe I am mistaken, but this portion of the video seems to create the possibility of a misinterpretation by the viewer.

On the other hand, if M&M are really providing IRS in the Y400 Rexton, it would be - at this price point - a segment first, for a body-on-chassis SUV.

Spotted this on 11th July, was wondering which car it was until i stumbled upon this post. Was able to follow the guy for more than 3kms on the Hiriyur stretch.

Impressions:

Amazing stance, headlights give the feel of the GL/ML class, with the integrated DRL indicators
Extensive road testing was being done, tad too dangerously considering the hard braking the driver was doing on the highway. At a rumble strip stretch, could hear the tyre screeching, might be testing brake responsiveness without ABS (noob idea, done pounce on me if silly )

It's an Audi Q3. It might not be a part of the fleet, as I couldn't see any reason for it being used for any sort of benchmarking against the upcoming Mahindra.

And the reliable Isuzu MU-X at that price, given a choice, I would buy a Japanese unless the new Rexton comes as a CBU. But then again, I am not sure how well Mahindra technicians would be trained to handle the Rexton.

The Rexton has been reviewed by Autoexpresa UK & they are pleased with the progress the Korean company & the product had made especially in the interior fit & finish.
The ride remains the only hiccup in the overall package, which is pardonable considering the ladder frame architecture of the SUV.

I wish Mahindra takes a bold step and comes out this copycat grille fixation. All that it ends up doing is certifying a superior aspirational value for Jeep. Sad, Mahindra as it is is'nt too far behind. The way the Mahindra badge is put up in this version simply doesn't gel with the grille design, yet they seem to imagine that they can't do without it. Wonder if they misread their license terms as a compulsory obligation to use the design.
