Nothing new. The Chennai Police had these bikes many years ago. Even the Goa Police still use these bikes.

Chennai Police used to have white colour Bullets with huge fairing and Bangalore Police are obessed with Tiger paint scheme for bike and tow vehicles. During the 80s they had blue colour RD350s.

Wearing a helmet without the strap is useless! May do more damage than good.

The Boleros have always been a fav amongst the forces. In a way its better than the Scorpio, because of the less body roll, and great handling and braking.

Two more reasons why Boleros are a favorite : They can take a whole lot more abuse than the Scorpio (straight from the horses mouth) and, of course, they are cheaper.

Quite true, heard this same thing long back from the M&M marketing division managers, who would ply between Ahmedabad and Surat quite often; and their drive being the Bolero. This was when I was working with the M&M dealership. The Bolero's braking inspires confidence which can't be paralleled by Scorpio.

The best cars for the police would be the Tata Indicas, cousins of which are also called the Indicabs that terrorize Indian cities. Imagine police in these terrorizers.
