Interesting.

Would it be possible for you to share any more experience with the vehicle. (if you are permitted to)

Do you know if there is a 4WD petrol manual option on offer? I know this would be confidential information, but with the launch now imminent, I thought I can ask you now!

Nice! I wish the gentleman with the camera took a close up through one of the front side windows too! This car seems to be near production ready. Interiors sure would have given a clear picture of whats hitting the showrooms soon. The overall dimensions - especially the large wheels vis-a-vis body size look impressive.

Needless to say - the alloys are looking dope in dark shade. If they come silver/aluminium finished from the factory - the first mod for owners should be to get them done in matte black!

The aggressive stance is very appealing. Taped over windshield edge suggests it may have a bonded glass, as opposed to older Thar's rubber liner. Love that vertical antenna on the side. Looks like this one is as tall as Scorpio, if not taller. Mahindra is setting cat among pigeons (mini-SUVs). This will be most mod-friendly car in India. One with 2/3 inch lift kit, 33 inch MT tyres, gloss black body paint and matt-black wheels will decimate every other car in looks. Waiting very eagerly for its launch.

For a few seconds, I thought the trailer is of the new Thar or at least it is captured as part of that evolution video.

This is something that wasn't present in any of the spy pictures seen earlier. Doubt if it is going to be there in the production version.

Another video uploaded on youtube explaining all the variants. I hope he is right. If he is, there is a Thar for everyone. Good to know there will be an automatic on both fuels.

How did he ascertain this is a petrol? Background music in the video leaves no scope to hear the engine rattle and exhaust.

No rear discs? Come on Mahindra, aim it at Compass level features with a killer price. It would be a run away hit. I see a lot of people are actually waiting for the new Thar. Please aim higher Mahindra.

Also please do not make your early adopters as your test mules. Fix all niggles before releasing. We do not mind waiting few more months for a great product than buying an half baked one.

Any idea why have they not included Grand Armada in the evolution video?

No suggestion required . There are many clear pics and you are correct, it is bonded glass without the rubber beading. So hopefully no leaks like the current gen Thar.

re: The 2020 next-gen Mahindra Thar : Driving report on page 86

I don't see any pillar-mounted grab-handle on A pillar, like there is on Wranglers. All American and Japanese SUVs have them on both A and B pillars. These may be useful only to vertically-challenged people, but they give SUVs a macho rugged look. How expensive are these to provide? None of the Indian and European SUVs have. Not even Rovers. Fortuner and Isuzu MUX have them only on A-pillars but Endeavour, Prado, LC, 2020 Pajero Sport, Nissan Patrol and all American SUVs have them on both A and B pillars. Some lower variants of Jeeps in US which don't come with these, there are aftermarket ones available.

It may sound like trivia to many but I find this feature very appealing in an SUV. I'm uploading some of the SUVs pics with these grab-handles. If mods feel I have uploaded a pic too many, please delete some.

Yes, I believe there are both MT and AT petrol (regular and turbocharged) AWDs.

Probably on the rear seat configuration. Assuming those are bucket seats. How convenient is the rear entry/exit, especially when the luggage space is loaded. And how spacious is the luggage area when rear seats are occupied.

That's a very interesting statement from someone who has driven it "MY ONLY CAR"! Says a lot. The previous generation Thar was always regarded as a 2nd vehicle for Fun. Which one are your going for Diesel/Petrol, Manual/Automatic?
