Re: New Gurkha Xplorer! Need help with customization & modifications!

If you buy it in NCR, there are places like - Azad, Bimbra or even Sarbloh (Chd). They should be able to help you with concepts and how much it would cost you eventually. Good thing is with this lifestyle 4x4 segment picking up, you can also get functional modification done to your 4x4 from them.

Sarbloh is the one that modified the Mahindra Gateway for Gul Panag. Search for BHPian Jaskirat, he owns the place IIRC.

EDIT:

Or you could get this done in KL from the OPs place - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...-makeover.html

In MH, Mumbai, I guess there is Alan (BHPian xtreme_power) - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...990-gypsy.html

In TS, Hyderabad, there is New Mars - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...ade-india.html

Re: The 2017 Force Gurkha- LIFT with 33 inch Tires

Hello,

Can anyone help with understanding of lifting the 2017 Gurkha, Explorer model?

I'd like a 2-inch lift with 33x12.5x16 or similar AT tyres.

Or can these size tires be installed without needing a lift?

Thank you in advance.

The Gurkha has spring over axle set up in the rear. At the front you may need some sort of lift. But from just looking at the wheel arch and the gap between the 245/70/16 tyres and the fender, there seems to be sufficient gap to accommodate 33 inch tyres.

I have seen their work in the past and it has been exterior mods. I do not think I have seen anything being done by them in the interiors. Regardless I will be calling all of them up today. I'll also be speaking to AGM Technologies...they are the one's that did the Scorpio Aristo.

No doubt these are some greak makeover. However again, nothing to the interiors :(

Thank you Sir!

Springs over axle set up means, no lift needed for the rear?

Attached is the picture of the setup at the front.

You can drop the sir!

Well, all of them do interior jobs too. On their websites, you'll be able to see some of the transformations. Interior jobs are mostly change in upholstery, seat replacements, armrest additions etc. If you are expecting something more drastic, I would say maybe contact them and see which one seems best suited for your particular needs.

Another one I can think of - Kitup from KL. Actually, KL is the Mecca of custom jobs in our country I feel. The tastefully modified thread would be shorter by 50% if it wasn't for cars from KL.

I think KitUp is Coimbatore based. Then there's Road and Track (R & T) in Kerala.

There are quite a few places where the work will get "done"; but I need quality.

So can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help would be highly appreciated! 🙏
I am in the exact same boat, I've been with a Boloro SLX for over 6 years, in a love hate relationship, spending tons of money and time.

The time is here for me to get a proper 4x4, hence the Gurkha Explorer.

Short wheel base is my choice but family may hate the 2-door for rear entry.

I also hear that there may be a engine upgrade (FM 2.2- from Force One), which seems like a nice upgrade to the 2017 version of 2.6L. If that is the case, I'd hate to be stuck with the 2017 version, that is not even on sale yet in Hyderabad.

Any help you would need in Hyderabad, I will be more than glad to help.

Please keep in touch and if it is appropriate please share your number on PM, so we can chat over the phone as well.

Good luck with your efforts!!

I suggest wait for the 2.2 . I am doing the same. It is definitely in the works. But with Force timelines are unpredictable.

Hey, great thought.
I personally prefer the tallish looks instead of the wannabe hummer stance. This thing is brilliant from the front!

Actually Hummer stance is deceptive as the vehicle is quite tall, it is just the extra width that gives it that squat look.

Here is data from Wiki :
Length 184.5 in (4,686 mm)
Width 86.5 in (2,197 mm)
Height 77 in (1,956 mm)
2004–06: 79 in (2,007 mm)

I was talking about the squat design proposed in the quoted post. What I meant was that I like the current tallish stance that it has. I could've been more clear with what I was trying to say
