3) Multi-car Track Driving

The 3rd test-drive consisted of driving 6 different hybrid vehicles on the track. The line-up had the Toyota Sai (same as Lexus HS250h), Toyota Camry, Toyota Crown Comfort, Lexus GS450h, Toyota Estima & Toyota Alphard. Keep in mind that all hybrid cars have CVT transmissions, and this is track driving we're talking about. I went in with low expectations and came out impressed. What I am trying to say is, all of them felt like regular automatic cars to drive. The Estima and Alphard are actually minivans which I drove in sports mode, just for kicks. I was most impressed by Sai since it had the best handling of them all. It surely stood out on the track.

I agree. It looks quite imposing in black too. Not to mention, the awesome interiors. Sincerely hope, they start selling it in India.
Unlike with the Crysta, would replace the Innova in the blink of an eye even with it, even if it costs north of 30.

And people complain that WagonR is boxy! The front end of this car can be used to scare kids.

Only consolation - Is somewhat better than some Lexus grills.

Both platforms will be BSVI and full electric ready.

I reckon Toyota should display the Vellfire along the Alphard to gauge customer response.

AFAIK, the only difference between Alphard and Vellfire is Alphard has a 3.5l V6 option and beige interiors, while Vellfire has the 2.5l and black interiors.

Both have same 2.5l hybrid engine and features. Since there is less possibility of Toyota launching the V6 and more likely to launch the 2.5l hybrid (volumes) already here, the Vellfire would be a better option. Just put the Alphard beige interiors for Indian taste

Also, the Vellfire is one of the few decreasing tribe of Toyotas with non offensive grilles

I think the i20 rival and the Q50x twins may be showcased in a concept form, and not near production form.

However, going by the video, Tata motors might just have leaked the official sketches of the new CV, the Q501 and (unfinished) Ace. (From top to bottom). Screenshot taken from their YouTube upload.



My prediction, the Q50x twins draw heavy inspiration from Evoque and Disco sport, but tail lamps and rear bumper sections may be similar to F-pace and other Jaguar suv concepts.
Fingers crossed, expecting something really great from Tata.

Toyota Yaris Sedan unveiled ( for select few ?)

Toyota will offer the Yaris with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 89 BHP and 132 Nm in the Etios. There will be no diesel engine on offer at the time of launch which is scheduled for April 2018. The petrol engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

2018 Toyota Yaris Sedan!

– The Toyota Yaris will be launched in April 2018
– The C-segment sedan will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine
– Toyota has no immediate plans to launch a diesel Yaris

Some versions of Innova cost 28L-30L on road. This beast with super luxury interiors will be on 35-40L range, is what I believe.
