re: Meeting the Jeep Compass. EDIT: Priced between 14.95 to 20.65 lakhs

Wonderful pricing especially seeing the list of features offered in the base variant.

Just shows how much price correction needs to happen in the market for a lot of cars. Lack of competition meant they fixed it as they wish.

More joy for the consumers.

They came out swinging and they didnt miss. Fantastic pricing by FCA! If reviews are positive too, could be a game changer.

Never ever Indians had a global product with a pedigree at prices which people could afford .Of all the 4wheels on road across brands I firmly believe Jeep / FCA had given a gift to us all .Further for the first time perhaps this will force manufacturers offering products with just average engineering at ridiculous prices to think .All the best to FCA / Jeep and happy driving to all owners of this extremely aspirational brand .

Re: Meeting the Jeep Compass

So, 15L starting price is inline with most people's expectation here (i.e. what I considered as reasonable expectation). My prediction was around 16-17. Having said all that, I think the price can only go up in the coming months if this turns out to be a success. Just too bad even 16L would result in 19L OTR, which is beyond me. I guess I will have to settle for a Nexon then!

The Tucson and Tiguan were dead and now they can bury it.

This is going to be a bumper hit like the Ecosport and the XUV . This has to be the most competent 4WD vehicle easily in the segment. The wide appeal of the the FWD variants can't be missed either .

Finally Fiat India has a hit.

Could also steal some sales from the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 as well as it looks premium and has the Jeep pedigree and branding.

I will change my job and go back to Delhi for this beauty..

19 OTR for Diesel Sports with extended warranty isn't really bad at all. But I will wait till Feb/ March to replace my only 3 year old Duster. Hope they can sort out all the problems by then.

Agreed, it's not like I can afford this car but waiiting to see how it impacts the segment and market as when few underpowered hatchbacks (AT) retail at > 10L, this is a fantastic pricing. There are lot of cars in D1 whose prices need correction.

re: Meeting the Jeep Compass. EDIT: Priced between 14.95 to 20.65 lakhs

Good pricing but the Petrol doesnt get 4*4 option? Why?
And seems that it is the only Diesel 4*4 that will get 6 airbags ..

Frankly, not much to differentiate the Petrol Jeep Auto from the Creta Auto, except for some safety bits. ESC, TCS etc. And a 5L premium for that?? Too much.

Re: Meeting the Jeep Compass

At last, it is happening - FCA has set the cat among pigeons. While every other manufacturer is busy over pricing their products in India, here comes a game changer.
Going by the reviews so far, Compass is a high quality product, perfectly suitable for Indian road conditions and now has a lucrative pricing.
They must ensure that Sales & Service network scale up and meet the customer expectations.

Wish someone start the similar trend in luxury segment as well, cars like 3 series/Q3 are hovering close to 50 lakhs OTR in Blore, which is a day light robbery in my opinion.
