Thanks to my birdie for this.
Interesting to see that they have not given the slightly more powerful 200Nm tune of the 1.3 diesel available in the Brezza and Ciaz to the DZire.

Drive on,
Shibu.

Thanks once again Raven.. I don't when the birdie's fly to us as is common with you.

Variants - this is what, most of the prospective buyers were waiting for. Now, the last info, required would be pricing.

One surprising omission from Z_i is Precision Cut Alloy Wheels. Now, we need to check how good or bad are the Other Alloy wheels. Is there any difference in the design too?

Probably the white car is a Z_i variant. The alloys look slightly different from the precision cut alloys on other cars behind it.

You have enough photos to make a magazine review for the New Dzire

But not a Team bhp one, that would need much more pics.
Any idea on when the Media drive is? Or maybe it has already been done, in that case when does the embargo come off?

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

The addition of ZXi+ variant has given Maurti some space to spread out the variants.

VXi/VDi misses out on Electric Folding ORVM, Front Fog Lamp. However, it does now get height adjustable driver's seat. LXi/LDi does not even have adjustable front headrest.

ISOFIX, ABS with EBD and dual airbags are standard, good feature list. Others surely need to play catch-up on this now, specially Hyundai (Xcent AT is available on in S trim which lacks ABS) and Honda. However, I think the 37-ltr. fuel tank is way too small for a car in this segment.

It would now be worth watching if they price it at a premium or stick to value for money pricing people associate Maruti brand with. If the pricing is value oriented and not like Ignis/S-cross, I am sure that sales of rivals will be dented.

The present ZXI trim is priced at Rs 7,02,504/-, ex-showroom Delhi.

Considering the additions in this all-new ZXI (HEARTECT body, brake assist, rear LED lamps, different Head Unit, higher FE figures) it would be fair to expect a 30,000-35,000 rupees increase.

That would put the new ZXI between 7.33 - 7.38 lakhs. ZXI AGS would be around 7.83-7.88 lakhs.

The ZXI+ gets, over and above the ZXI:

LED projectors,
DRLs,
Precision-cut alloys,
Reversing Camera,
SmartPlay navigation-based touchscreen infotainment system,
Auto Headlamps with Lead-Me & Follow-Me-Home feature.

The ZXI+ will get pricey. I would say around 8.20-8.30 lakhs. The AGS variant would be near the 8.70-8.80 lakh-mark.

The present-gen ZDI is priced at 8,07,460/-, ex-showroom Delhi. That would put the new ZDI at around 8.38 - 8.43 lakhs.

Add the 1.05 lakh rupee difference for the ZDI+ over the ZXI+, and that brings us to around 9.25-9.35 lakhs for the ZDI+, ex-showroom Delhi.

And, 9.75-9.85 lakhs for the ZDI+ AGS.

Yikes! I hope I am wrong and the pricing is much saner.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

Any further leaks on the pricing. I am interested in the VDi variant. Would the gap between petrol & diesel variants hover above a lakh? Also, how costlier could the V variants be compared to the current version?

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

The Launch event might be around 1200 hrs tomorrow. The event will be live streamed on maruti suzuki website.

Apart from checking the Car in metal, Many of us would be keen to check whether the Rear AC vent is just a blower or an AC outlet.

A better look at the ZXi/ZDi's alloys, in comparison to the ZXi+/ZDi+'s alloys.

On the pricing front, the only indication I am getting is that the top-end DZire variant (ZDi+ AGS) will cross Rs 11-11.5 lakhs OTR in some cities.

Be prepared for the unveiling of a pricey DZire tomorrow!

That explains the startegy to move Ciaz to NEXA. This will certainly help avoid cross buying as top end Dzire looks closer to Ciaz mid variants, had they shared same floor Ciaz would have looked a lot more tempting for buyers with LAMBI GAADI feel. That also explains Maruti's push to project it as a proper sedan.

Nexa's got proper sedan for informed buyers and unsuspecting ones will look at Dzire as their next upgrade. Maruti has been able to hit 2 birds with 1 stone, whereas other manufacturers loose out on both fronts by going compact sedan way.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

If the L variant had few basics such as a rear Ac vent, armrest, power windows and Height adjust driver seat it would have been great value. Don't get me wrong, i'd still take Abs+airbags over these features anyday.

Seeing the brochure, the V variants look like the best value, with all the essential and truly useful features. And the Z variant looks like a little unnecessary to me, sounds more like a plan to upsell the Z+ variants and getting more margins. Its business after all
