Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

Like always, MSIL have skipped on the tachometer, Day-Night IRVM in the base versions.

+1. And that's bad news for us. This will create artificial waiting period for the VFM variants, and the customers would be compelled to upgrade to Z/Z+. I can see a repeat of Brezza's sales trend happening. I hope MSIL prioritizes the production to V variants.

OTOH, for an urban buyer I still think it is tough to decide between a Baleno & new Dzire. The few differentiating factors as I see -
1) Boot space (Baleno - 339L vs Dzire - 378L).
2) Rear A/c Vents (IMHO, they appear too tiny to be effective).
3) Rear Armrest.
4) Height adjustable driver seats in the V variants compared to Delta version of Baleno.

I believe the biggest differentiator between them is the Amt availability on 3 variants and especially the diesel ones where as baleno offers Cvt only in petrol and that too not in top variant unlike Dzire. This opens to a buyer like me too many flexibility of choices.

I will be the first to admit I have always detested Dzire and never considered it as a buying choice ever. But, Maruti has changed the game drastically with this one, now I am seriously considering vdi AMT or even just the manual one dependent on the price it launches today. For someone like me who has to do a 75 km up and down to my office in Delhi's mad traffic, this seems like a God sent option at the right time.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

I prefer the side profile more than the front view. Front and rear 3 quarters good too. Blue colour is the best. AMT at all models make it a very nice proposition. Big hit from Maruti. RIP other sub 4 meters

Even in ciaz they feel effective only when fan is at full speed.

You are right. I completely forgot about the AMT. The earlier Zdi AGS(AMT) was neither VFM nor a big hit. The multijet diesel as per my experience has a light clutch(infact, lightest of all diesel cars & many other petrol cars as well) & should not be a pain even in the worst conditions of traffic.
Whereas the AMT in the petrol can be a game changer for the segment, both in terms of VFM'ness as well as driving comfort in the traffic. The AMT in the petrol can eclipse the lack of better low end torque.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

Prices Revealed. Smart pricing in my view considering the feature list.
AT is Rs. 47,000 more expensive in both petrol and diesel variants. Very smart. AT variants will be in demand it seems.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

Decent pricing. Suzuki knows it will get the numbers, so why rock the boat if aspirational pricing? I wonder why the Baleno is the only one with a CVT? Perhaps this too deserved one.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

Pricing looks good enough. No surprises there, thankfully This one is going to have long waiting periods for sure! The VXI & VXI AGS variants are good value IMHO, offering most of the essential features.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

All the fears about a price hike of around 30 - 50K is alleviated.

Good pricing, considering all the improvements. You pay nothing extra compared to the old DZire for the improvements in the safety, boot space, legroom, FE, and looks department . A possible but gradual price hike in the future?

And this makes sure that the new Swift 2018 will also be priced sensibly compared to the current one.

This one will steal some sales from Baleno, Brezza and Ciaz and from competitors' models for sure owing to its freshness, improvements and good looks. One thing that can be a problem is the long waiting period it may suffer. Hope the Gujarat facility will come to rescue Maruti.
