Perhaps the new 'sporty' grille?
I fear you may be right. Ford will probably shy away from offering the ST variant in India.

Doston,

After very many days, another uncamo spy shot has emerged, of the car being tested in Kochi.

This is courtesy AutoX.in, so thank you to them and their reader.

Yea i was about to post the same article and @Vish_Janu beat me

From these new snaps, it looks like the wheel caps are different and brand new compared to current model. So guess this is not a top end model as we have seen newer alloy wheels in other snaps.

Spotted a black Titanium variant on test undisguised.

Did not sport the TDCi badge and I could not hear any clatter from the engine. Shall post a video later.

If Ford were to offer all that is shown here - http://www.ford.com/suvs/ecosport/?f...p-ecosport#fun
when they bring out the facelift, I wonder what it would cost in India.
The current OTR price is around 11 lacs, I think, for the most expensive variant- petrol AT give or take a lac depending on where you live.
Would the version shown in the link be unattractively unaffordable? I really wonder...

Came across another report from IBT, mentioning 15th September as the launch/reveal date:

Spotted this Ecosport Titanium S testing on the Chennai - Trichy highway near Chengalpattu (which is where Ford’s plant is located) last weekend:

Unfortunately the car pulled into a different lane at the toll and I couldn’t click the alloys but they were exactly the same ones as in this image:

This definitely makes things interesting. A sporty fun to drive crossover is something tailor made for our roads. Good that Ford is finally playing to its strengths.

I’m eagerly waiting to see the features, prices and variants of the facelift before deciding on which one to buy later this month, but am I alone in thinking that the facelift looks worse than the outgoing model, particularly from the front?

I think the slimmer headlights, the sleek chrome line connecting them with the logo in the middle and the round fog lamps give it a more refined look than the over designed face of the upcoming model.

I don't understand the fascination with touchscreens, I have the current ecosport with sync and it is absolutely brilliant from a purely functional point of view. Yes, it is not that great for watching DVDs and videos, but then should you really be doing that on your car's ICE?

Offtopic: I’m an interior designer and they’re making shower interfaces with touchscreens now (that cost upwards of 3 lac rupees for just the controller). I always ask the salesperson how the person bathing is expect to use it with their eyes closed, as they often are in the shower, and they have nothing to offer by way of a coherent response. Funny.

But touchscreens in cars are here to stay.

Look at this car carefully, it has a ....alya motors sticker on the back and it has a TC car number. Looks like a dealership car to me. Has anybody inquired with a dealer about the cars arriving with them?

Guys, the speculation about the Ecosport reveal on 15th September is exactly that, just speculation, with no truth.

I have confirmed from couple of sources that the launch remains penciled in for November only, with some sort of reveal/media event happening around October, along with pre-bookings.

So it is another 45 days of wait ahead atleast..
