Happen to see the car, got a good feel of it at the dealership.
Few observations
1) Ford has changed the definition of facelift, if not for the engines and basic dimensions, this is an all new car.
2) seats are way more comfortable, front and back
3) rear legroom still remains a problem especially if you have a six footer ahead of you. Seats felt a lot puffed up as compared to the old one. Rear legroom not an issue for me.
4) alloys don’t look half as bad as in the pictures, the big wheel size gives it a pretty good stance
5) touchscreen is very responsive
6) quality of switch gear has seen improvement, it feels premium.
7) sound insulation when all doors closed seemed pretty good. Can’t say much before taking a test drive.
8) that steering though. Just

In the end I’m glad, I booked it.

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

Ladies and Gentlemen, below are the pictures of the very first Ecosports in the small town of Palakkad.

Had the fortune of seeing the display cars being unloaded 100 metres from my house.

In other news, the PVS Ford in the highway has shut doors and a new Ford dealer is coming in Kallekad called Aly ford opening on 10th November. These cars are planned to be unveiled then.

The cars are a Blue Titanium plus TDCi and a Brown Titanium Dragon engine.

The news that there is no titanium+ variant for the petrol MT was a bummer for me. I was waiting eagerly for this particular variant and alas!

Why did ford went this way, quite opposite to what other manufacturers do? To give a topend AT but not MT.
And on the titanium MT I miss most of the USP features, 6 airbags, ESP, TCS, leather seats, and even the 17" alloys.

My monthly running is as low as 200kms sometimes hence i doesn't require a diesel and i am not keen on the AT, hence the dilemma.
And saw a post here that the 'S' variant launch is too far and may not even launch in petrol version.
Why ford why?

Even though the MID looks bland and like it was out of the 90s, it packs in quite a lot of comprehensive information & adjustable/customisable settings.

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

Just back from checking out the car, Titanium+ manual, at Harpreet Ford.

Won't repeat what blurust and others have already mentioned, otherwise:

1) The headlights are indeed yellow in colour, not white as speculated. That's a bummer.

2) The sound system sounded alright to me, somebody had earlier mentioned if it was as good as nexon top stock, unfortunately can't compare as I have never heard it.

Also, there is indeed a speaker grille behind the screen (see attached picture), the radio music wasn't enough to test out bass, but if you are me, you will get a woofer for low freq installed aftermarket.

3) I don't like tail lights, never have. So ordered led pair for rear pillar from alibaba couple of weeks back, should be here by mid november

4) Finally, the dealer indicated that existing Titanium auto+ price will be breached, and the new one will def cost 10L+.

Glad to hear that they were able to get around 12 kmpl from the petrol automatic in mixed driving conditions including city driving. Especially after trying S mode also for some time. That is very encouraging. Reading about that 5 kmpl in earlier posts was a bit scary. On a side note, while they were speaking I was seeing 10.5 kmpl on the MID. May be that was shot at a different time. Not sure.

If i am not wrong (need to double check), the good thing i noticed is Low beam and high beam are not Toggle type, means not only one light glows at given point of time. If you have switched on the lights in low beam and then apply high beam using indicator stalk, both lights glow giving very good lighting effect in front. Add to that is the Fog lamp position at higher level which is almost equivalent like normal hatches low beam light giving more lights to front. Plus the DRLs which are pretty good looking in dark/low light. However, i doubt whether DRLs will be very evident or obvious in bright day light or against the sun light. Have to check it out when the car is driven out.
Thanks @Vish_Janu. Your 2nd snap confirms my understanding on how low beam and high beam works. Relooking at the car front reconfirms the same about separate lighting apart from DRL and Fog lamp little down with indicators. So we effectively have 4 lights in high beam mode. So should really give good lighting ahead.

We haven't seen any snaps or video how the car lighting is in dark and how interiors look. Guess we may get that only when ownership reviews are out or if test drive cars are available after launch.

The new Canyon Ridge looks rich compared to the old Bronze Brown. And it is also not orange as seen in pics, but a brighter shade of Brown itself.

I have a question. Sorry for the ignorance. I see all the parts exposed. There is no plastic cover on the engine bay that covers the top elements?

Mod note: Post Edited. Please use proper punctuation and space, helps with readability. Thanks.

Saw the car in person today. Didn't get to test drive the car and my impression are based on the feel I got in the showroom.

The car is no doubt a looker now, especially in the new blue colour. The touch screen is awesome and is miles ahead of the competition. The build quality is good but interior quality is average. I felt Nexon has better dashboard quality and design.

Contrary to all the discussion going on forums I was not very impressed by the dragon at idle. The car had fair amount of sound for a petrol engine. More so I was disappointed by the amount of vibrations entering the cabin. My petrol Figo seems much smoother in comparison. The rear bench has been raised and is a bit too upright for my comfort. The seats will not be very comfortable for long journeys. The Nexon seat are much better in comparison.

We can call this as a heart-lift rather than a face-lift. Yes, the front side is made more attractive, but the changes to the Petrol engine and the dashboard are more welcome. They kept the unbroken things as it is, and patched all broken areas. That complicated dashboard is changed for good, IMO. Well done, Ford. Bring here a 4.3m long version as well.

Just by adding these Chrome inserts would have helped the MID look better, my 2 cents.

+1 to that amrutmhatre90

In fact, I would go a bit more conservative in the interest of "COST SAVING", and would have probably increased the size of the MID screen in the middle, and added the chrome strip only to that.

A very shoddy iteration of my thoughts here:
