Spotted the trend variant in brown tonight. The spare wheel cover design was different and an explicit "TREND" badge on the hatch door was present. The wheels seemed like a new deisgn of alloys.

Can't help but point out that extensive testing we have been seeing is due to the upcoming dragon engine. Were you able to notice any engine sound while passing it?

It maybe possible, but you will need to change the bonnet and bumper along with the headlights as the cutouts are different. Only the fender remains the same. Might just prove prohibitively expensive.

The Ecosport would greatly benefit from a panoramic sunroof. The interiors are pretty tight and also it has a high waist line. When I checked it out, it felt like the seats in the back were sunk-in.

Not a big fan of the new front from the pics. Let's hope they don't mess up the design too much.

Spotted this EcoSport test mule in GST road, Chennai today evening.

The front view pics of the car are images from my rear view mirror and hence look like a LHD vehicle.

Is that a retracting screen? The design looks so much like the ones available from Pioneer etc.

Either ways, Ford has an upper edge with the HU. Looks like a floating 8 inch unit, as compared to the Nexon's 6.5 inch one.

Ford Dragon petrol engine family to debut in refreshed EcoSport this Diwali

All-new 1.5 litre 3-cylinder petrol to replace ‘Sigma’ 1.5 litre four-cylinder motor in refreshed Ecosport. 1.2 litre, three-cylinder to power future Fords.

For the Indian market, the Dragon range will initially consist of a three-cylinder engine in 1.5-litre and 1.2-litre displacements;

A 1.2 petrol will be the staple engine for the models that qualify for the ‘small car’ tax benefits and hence, is likely to power cars ranging from the next-gen Figo and Aspire (expected in 2019) to a new premium hatchback that is also being developed on the B563 platform. Lower variants of the EcoSport could also get the 1.2 motor.

Thanks for the new spyshots @rubicon! This is probably the clearest interior shots we have seen. Looks like ford has decided to give us the full update. Even the steering looks new. The touchscreen will be a key selling point. The center speaker is also seen. So one can expect great sound quality as well. Now with the new engine, the overall recipe looks ripe for success.

Initially I thought it's a center speaker, but then thought it might be a mobile dock as seen in the Figo twins. The dock doesn't make much sense though, as the HU itself should have mobile compatibility.
