Re: BMW silently launches the 330i, priced from Rs. 42.4 lakh

BMW is doing this only for the petrol engines, mostly because their US customers read the bigger number and think it's an inline six especially the 30i. The majority of cars are leased, so BMW is doing what it can to boost numbers.

Audi has a more sophisticated system to bamboozle buyers, a labelling system they invented because the A6 shared a badge with a Jetta. Now we get Q5 owners putting up a blurred picture of the 30 TDI badge and claiming it's a 3 litre engine and likewise, the 45 TDI of the Q7 is advertised as the (rare) 4.2 V8.

This 330i is a good buy for people wanted a performance petrol, late in the product cycle so most of the niggles have been sorted out, newer engine that'll be supported for longer. The pricing seems right compared to the 320i.

Re: BMW silently launches the 330i, priced from Rs. 42.4 lakh

Boohoooo!!!

A quiet launch for the ideal car, for a petrolhead!!

I have been waiting for this car, at the price point it is, for years now!!

I couldn't wait anymore, and bought a 320d LCI last year.

Alas!!! Only if, I had waited.

Chaps, life is short - Dont think, buy this damn thing already.

Finally we all have a good petrol BMW to consider. Hope I can change my current car to this at some point!

Shameless Plug

Also, I noticed something interesting about the tire sizes of the new 330i

Re: BMW silently launches the 330i, priced from Rs. 42.4 lakh

The piece of news I wanted to hear!

Now for all those bhp-ians listening in on this thread. We badly want to sell our 7 year old 330i that has just done 1 lakh kilometers on the odo, and were waiting for the time BMW would launch its new 330i. We want to sell it purely for two reasons, the abysmally low fuel consumption (5.5kpl in city) and the rock hard suspension that we can't live with anymore on desi roads, even though that gives out of this world handling for its price.

If anyone has an idea which BMW showroom (or executive) I can maximize an exchange deal for my old 330i with this one, please do let me know.

Also in a similar but sad news, the X3 has lost the 30d option, only 4 cylinders now It would have made a great deal since the New one will come in by next year most likely (like the 10 odd lacs off there was on the outgoing 530d)

Just trade it in at BMW nobody will be able to give you the same price, and push for 100k INR in loyalty bonus minimum. (I'm not sure how much it is, it keeps changing).

Yo guys, pardon me if I'm wrong but didnt the 3 GT launched around October last year have their i-drive similar to the current gen 7 series but minus the hand gestures? I can't find the news article stating exactly what it was called but it was something to do with an updated interface of the i-drive screen. Does the 330i see these changes? Also might i also ask, what are the particular details about this i-drive if any?

Akshay1234 seems to be the best person to ask about beamers.

Hey so you are right. Basically all 2017 cars have that idrive. Its called iDrive EVO (or idrive with tiles in layman terms). All the cars besides the F10s made in 2017 now have this idrive. No additional features as such, but its just an updated interface.

Re: BMW silently launches the 330i, priced from Rs. 42.4 lakh

What's the new price in the wake of GST (and the pre GST June offer they are running)? Does 330i have spare wheel (and wheel well)? From the many reviews, I see 330i steering is not as sharp as Jaguar XE. Any bhpean can comment on this?

Well said Nucliomaniac!

I was in the same boat, and got a 320d LCI last year as well I'm super happy with the decision, but this is the engine I was waiting for.

BHPians on the fence - go for it, this is the real deal.

BMW silently launches the 330i, priced from Rs. 42.4 lakh

Seems to be a really measly price cut of just 1.4 Lacs, that is not even 3%! We were expecting 7-8% for luxury cars.

I think they will have to resort again to deep discounting tactics of the past and missed an opportunity to price realistically. They have done a great job with the 530i pricing which they could have cemented with the GST related price correction exercise across the board and emerged as the "Luxury-cum-Value leader" among the German luxury trio.

Please do test drive the car. The newer generation BMW's are a lot softer to drive with the EPS.

Re: BMW silently launches the 330i, priced from Rs. 42.4 lakh

Just got a call from Navneet Motors here in Bangalore reg the 330i. Post-GST pricing on Sportline is 52.4 approx and on M Sport is 55 approx (both on road). Im wondering if they will discount this further in your opinion guys? Wasnt quite the price drop that I had expected.
