Caught the elusive 330i at a Mumbai dealer today. Roughly 7-8 lakhs off is the current offer but with exterior-interior combinations strictly as per availability at the plant.

Those are rear discs which are usually smaller than the front ones. Those must be standard brakes for the 3 series across the range. I guess only the M40i and above get bigger brakes.

I am not an expert on this topic, but this is not an apple to apple comparison, right? The wheels in the picture are from the C300D AMG. It should be compared with an M3, right?

Nope, the C300D is an AMG Line and not an actual AMG just like the 330i is an 'M Sport' and not an actual M car. So M Sport and AMG Line comparison is an apples to apples comparison.

Getting a used 2018 Jan 530i for sale at 45L under 5K kms
Or
a 2018 (month unknown) 330i for sale at 42 under 5 k kms

What should be a right price given 20 months and say 12 month old cars . Assuming perfect conditions.

Car has done ~7400km so far and it's been a joy. The steering is a bit vague around center at slow speeds but sharp and accurate at high speeds. There is a slight turbo lag when getting off the line (when compared to the GTI ) but other than that it's pretty fast car. High speed cornering and handling is top notch. With 225/45R18 in front and 245/40/R18 in the rear the stability and handling is reassuring. Tyres are expensive though (rear: ~INR31000, front ~INR24000) so factor that in as well.

For a 1 year old car that's done just 5000km, I would say a 15% depreciation would be reasonable. Is there any BSI or BSI plus or RI (extended warranty in BMW speak) that the current owner has bought?

Thanks a lot... 15% i guess would be normal depreciation. And with now the new shape kicking in I would knock off another 10-15% i guess..And people at the dealer are telling me a year back there was a disc of 10-12 lacs on this !!

That makes it 55 on road -10 lac disc -15% normal dep - 10pct shape disc to about ...34.5!!

I think i should give a offer of no more than 35 in that case.

Put the car in Sports mode, that would weigh up the steering. Can put gearbox in sports mode to get the best out of the car.

Try it. Every other mode then feels like a leash on the car.
