Re: Mahindra XUV500 facelift coming, to get power hike. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs 12.32 lakhs

Initial impressions after completion of 1000km for my W9 AT:

In city, need to keep in mind size of the vehicle. Otherwise steering is light, gearbox/engine is very responsive and good view from driver seat makes it very easy to drive in the city.

In highway (went for a quick trip to mysore), it is very comfortable. The autobox shifts into 6th gear after around 90 kph and engine also feels very relaxed. Since it was in run-in period, tried to keep the speeds around 100kph. Ride quality was also very good and no complaints from even third row passengers.

Now for the small niggles which I mentioned during 1st service at 1000kms:

1) Wipers making sound - They adjusted the blades and now it has disappeared.
2) Brakes grabby and making sound - They did brake bleeding and now the grabby nature has reduced.
3) Vibration sound from dashboard - They said they have done some tightening, but still the sound remains :(

Overall very satisfied with the purchase, but the small niggles remain..

@Raghav_K, psinide

I have connected to android auto from the top usb port and it works well in my car

Wheels look nice. Can you post some pics taken from front. Want to see if the wheels stick out of the fender, just as it did in case of your earlier XUV.

Okay, but I am not getting this error in my car.
Not sure if they modified it later, my phone is Oneplus 3T.

I did not try lower port yet, will check that also and report.

Thanks

Heres the pics. They are very less protruding than my previous ones. If you look closely you can see that only some part of tyre bulge are out a little bit, rest treads are inside wheel well only. Infact if i would have gone for 255 tyres then they would have looked like my old ones.

Checked in my car which is W9 AT and there is only one usb port which explains it :(

The lower usb port is not present, maybe because it is present only in W11 version. Checked the brochure and not able to find anything specific for usb ports.

Hi Swami. I got my W11 alloys exchanged to these. Original price for these alloys were 34K, but dealer took my W11 alloys for 20K so i ended up paying 14K only.
Also i exchanged my Bridgstone tires too with Michelin AT and payed only 6K for a set of 4.

All this from dealer and not from online store. Generally you will get higher price quote online,be it any company, so i would suggest you to go down to dealer shop and then bargain. Mine was 36K initially but i bargained and got it for 34K.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 facelift coming, to get power hike. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs 12.32 lakhs

We got the car delivered yesterday, waiting for the number plates now. I will start an initial ownership thread soon with pictures and my experience with the dealers etc.

A quick question to the AT owners - How are you doing the running-in of the engine? I know we have to keep the rev at around 1500-1800 for the first 1000kms, but the AT switches gears at 2000-2100 for the 1st & 2nd gear. After that the shifts are at about 1600-1800 mark.

I just saw a video which is a W9.

Watch the below link around 8 to 9 minutes from start. It has top USB port (adjacent to ear phones socket) and bottom power socket ( illuminated).

Going to book XUV W7 AT in few days....Wished to switch to Kodiaq then Crysta ZX AT but price difference to W7 AT didn't worked out for me. My 6 Year XUV W8 fetched 5 Lacs Mahindra X-mart whereas Toyota quoted 3 Lacs. 10 Year ban on diesel vehicles in NCR sucks.

Even i sold my 6.5 years old W6 for 5.5 L to individual who wanted to send it outside Delhi to his parents. If this Delhi 10 year ban was not implemented, then would have kept it for some more time. Now i have W11 AT through CSD so no tension of Delhi ban

I noticed the same thing too. We had 7 passengers in the car today, and it's extremely hard (almost impossible) to keep the rev below 2K in lower gears of my W11 (O) AT. I am not sure if other AT owners are seeing the same thing.

Guys, It is impossible to keep the engine rpm below 2000, especially in the second gear of the AT. So don't worry about it, keep a light foot on the accelerator, vary your rpm now and then, and keep it below 2500 - 3000 rpm range. You should be fine.

It is indeed difficult to keep the RPM under 2000 for the AT version. This is what the Owner's Manual says (page 1-5):

Running in
Driving smoothly during first 1000 kms will help to prevent abnormal and premature system wear. Proper running in will improving(sic) the life of drivetrain and vehicle components.
