Is it me or the rear lights look like they are copied from BMW X1

The rear is looking way too heavy for a hatchback.

Atleast the tail lights are a little different now. All their cars from the I20 to the Tucson were beginning to look alike. Those alloys look terrible in my opinion.

I do not seem to the black, non painted section on the rear bumper. They have been using this in all their facelifts. The I10/I20 rear looks uglier now. They should not be attempting to make every car look like an suv : Frustrati:

Hyundai should be given the award for camouflage of the year. Notice the rear tail lights on the blue car are covered with newspaper.

Different alloy pattern on the Asta variant:

Thanks to Bhabani.

The rear seems to be busy and bulky now. I only liked the change in alloy. Wish they bring in more safety features across the range (ABS standard, All disc brakes). Maruti is now the old Hyundai - more features.

Hyundai please introduce the LED headlights in the projectors (they even haven't heard of HID's I guess :D. Most of them still have halogens in the projector.).

Launched at 5.35L to 9.16L ex showroom. Prices up by around 25k.

1.2 CVT Auto to be launched in May.

Finally we also have a CVT transmission.

Engine options have been carried over and the refreshed i20 continues with the 1.2-litre, 83hp petrol and the 1.4-litre, 90hp diesel units. And while the choice of manual transmissions stays the same (five-speed on the petrol, six-speed on the diesel), the big news is the arrival of a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that’s mated to the 1.2-litre Kappa engine. This, in effect, replaces the 1.4-litre petrol variant that was mated to a four-speed torque converter and made for the European market. It was introduced in India in September 2016 but never caught on because of its lofty pricing. Hyundai will launch the 1.2 CVT i20 in May this year.

Is the facelift dimensionally (external L x W x H) same as the outgoing model?
Has this engine + CVT box combo been used elsewhere by Hyundai or is this the first attempt?

The feature information on Hyundai website has been updated.
  1. Notably Dual Airbags and ABS has been made standard across all variants. clap: Earlier only Asta had them as standard with rest lacking ABS.
  2. ISOFIX seats though are available only on Asta(O).
  3. Sportz and Asta also get fog lamps near DRLs while Asta(O) gets them on the headlamp.
  4. Asta(O) gets IC Light adjustment (Rheostat).
  5. No adjustable rear headrests unless you opt for dual tone Asta or Asta(O)
  6. Dual tone Asta and Asta(O) get 16 inch alloy wheels, Asta gets 15 inch alloys, while the rest get steel wheels.
  7. Touchscreen system in Asta and Asta(O) like before.
  8. Rest barring the base variant get dual din integrated HU
  9. Auto up-down and pinch guard power windows available only on Asta(O). This is plain cost cutting.

Did you actually mean to post that Sportz and Asta get DRLs next to the fog lamp, while the Asta(O) gets in within the headlight cluster?

Your description was a bit too confusing to me.

So these (I am assuming) are only for the driver side window. Or has Hyundai gone the German way and equipped all 4 windows on the Asta(O) with Auto up-down and pinch guard?

Official website has been updated.

Personally I'm happy. I was scared that once the facelift comes, my 1st gen elite would look old. But I'm glad that they have not drastically improved it. In fact they have messed up the design of the car by losing the best parts of the original design - the alloys, matt black C pillar and the gorgeous tail lights. The rear looks odd too, with the number plate on the hatch. Overall, IMHO, looks wise the facelift is not an improvement.
