Facelifted E-Class Launched in India

OK, so as per reports on various channels the facelifted E has been officially launched in India. They have gotten in the E200, E280 and E280 CDi as previously through the CKD market.

As much as I hate the current E (not so sure about the facelifted one), I really must applaud Mercedes Benz India for getting in their products just barely a month or two after their international launches.

I even saw the E at the MB showroom @ Hughes Road and I must say, it looks pretty muscular from before with its more edgier front Bumper and grill. THough, I think that one was a CBU E350 since it had a panoramic roof.

Here are the details from MB UK since MB India don't have it on their site yet.

Spot on. DCIL is pretty quick in launching cars here after their international debut. The only mistake they made was with the W124 and seem to have learnt well.

Also, They are constantly upgrading their existing models with newer engines, specs and so on.

Is this the same Bluetec diesel which was launched recently into US(208bhp). US mags are giving rave reviews about performance and FE(35mpg)

Yes, they are quick to launch new models, but then they really don't have to worry about building to a price. They can simply import the new E till such time as they set the tooling up to assemble it here.

Nope TSK, I doubt its the blue-tec since it was introduced primarily to meet stringent American diesel emission norms.

Why spoil a good recipe ?

Not too different in terms of design other than those shown in addition to the new tail lamps . Why spoil a good recipe after all ?

The new front bumper looks bad, the old one was better.

They've managed to give it a KIA look. But these are just photos. On the road, its always a different story.

I expected MB to launch this model once the 5 series comes to India.MB does a good job at getting the latest goodies to India, but they are still laid back in getting us newer engines...the E200K is so damn dated! And for the price we pay, they should give us the E320 instead of E280. Hoping BMW starts up the engine war soon!
I have barely seen any facelifted E's in Boston, the only one i remember seeing was an E63 AMG with the new tail lights.

Face-lifted E-class launched

The new face-lifted E-class launched in Kerala by Mr.Sanjiv , Director (Sales) of DaimlerChrysler India during the Merc-owners meet on last saturday evening at LeMeridian Cochin.

The new E is having a new grill, revised front & rear bumber, new skirting, revised head-lamp with strips on indicator part & revised tail lights. No much change in the interior other than side curtain on the rear doors. The technical upgradation is the introduction of the Pre-Safe safety technology. But it lacks the cornering head-lamps. The varients remains same - E200 Kompressor, E280 CDI & E280. The price range on road Kearla is Rs.36 to 43 lacs.

Wow!! The launch was great!!

Guyz!

I was there for the event too. WOW!!! It had all the pomps of a Merc launch.
The actrobatic shows, the live band, models, show girls, crackers, cocktails and lot of PYTs!! Above all the car itself opened and presented for everyone to savour upon.

The amazing thing was there were already 7 waiting customers for the keys on the venue itself. Hmmmm,, did they have a sale of veggies???

Some pics from my side too.

We saw a new S-class on the way and one brand new gleaming one on the venue.

And look at that Mighty V6 with the Merc fancy covering!!!
