Another month, another change in Ford Endeavour variants

Last month, we had reported the discontinuation of two variants of the Ford Endeavour, cutting down the SUV's variant count to just three. The discontinued variants were the 2.2 4x4 MT Trend and 3.2 4x4 AT Trend. Ford had removed them from the company's official website. This had resulted in the elimination of all the manual transmission variants from the Endeavour line-up.

Now, Ford has sent out a bulletin to its dealerships, mentioning the Endeavour's pricing after GST implementation. This updated price list includes six variants of the Endeavour. Ford appears to have not only re-introduced the two variants it had discontinued last month, but also brought back the base 2.2 4x2 MT Trend trim that was removed from the line-up in 2016.

Owing to the lower taxes applicable on SUVs under the new GST norms, Ford has also reduced prices of the Endeavour by up to Rs. 1.91 lakh (for the 3.2 Titanium 4x4 AT variant).

Prices (ex-showroom, Delhi):
• 2.2 Trend 4x2 MT - Rs. 23,68,700
• 2.2 Trend 4x4 MT - Rs. 25,17,900
• 2.2 Trend 4x2 AT - Rs. 23,91,200
• 3.2 Trend 4x4 AT - Rs. 26,15,800
• 2.2 Titanium 4x2 AT - Rs. 26,95,300
• 3.2 Titanium 4x4 AT - Rs. 29,59,000

Ford should get an award for "Most number of Price Corrections"

Buying a Ford Endeavour is like investing in the stock market. You don't know what will be the price tomorrow.

I suspect some error with the highlighted prices.

Who would buy the 4x2 AT over the 4x2 MT for a price difference of INR 23k?

The prices vary from NCR to north and south region. After GST was it not supposed to be uniform pricing for the entire country? States can impose what they want on the ex-showroom prices, like in Mumbai, isn't it?

Its same everywhere except one variant in the list - 3.2 4x4 Titanium. May be ford is trying to get something out of the best selling variant.

Delhi & NCR
29,59,000

North Region - 10k difference
29,69,000

Rest of India - 30k difference
29,89,000

Seriously? What is going on with Ford? So frequent variant rejigs will confuse the buyers. It surely doesn't take so long to settle down at a final set of variants. A couple of changes based on market demand/response can be understood, but this is unfathomable.

This the finer detail of their goof up, trying to push too much and Fortuner will sell even more. Stupid way to make a piddly 10-30k more and let down their image (in terms of ethics) before their South Indian customers. Why I say so? evident, Endy sells more in south for sure and that is why the price is higher here. For Gods sake, its made in Chennai.

Re: Another month, another change in Ford Endeavour variants

I am just wondering what will be the scene of the prices of used current gen Ford Endeavors in the market.
Do the prices remain uniform and steady or do they also fluctuate according to the price correction of a new Endeavor ?

Many restaurants displays Today's special for their customers to see. Same way Ford dealers should display Today's special ford variants on sale with their price.

Very true, like the junior most waiter with no experience updates rate on the board of restaurant the same is being done by guys at Ford. They need to have a clear strategy. If you have decided to discontinue a trim, stick with it. By coming up with bulletins like this you not only create confusion in minds of customer but also your sales team, those are the guys who finally sell your product and if someone asks them a question like "will my trim continue till first service"; the look on their face will itself tell the story.
Ford India if you are reading this, Please stick to the plan. You guys make awesome cars, please don't kill your cars yourself.

I don't think they are bringing back the discontinued variants, I think the reason for mentioning the old variants may be that they may be in inventory somewhere in the country. According to GST rules, MRP has to be clearly communicated on pre GST stocks.

Absolutely. It only tells consumers that the company is confused about its own product.

Someone in Ford's marketing team is not doing their job properly. These are typically decisions taken with due consideration BEFORE a launch: what variants, how they will be priced etc.

It's definitely enough to scare away potential buyers. For a while I had toyed with the idea of getting a 3.2 Titanium. The possibility is looking more and more remote.

This is exactly what I thought as there's no mention of any MT variants on the Ford India websites!

Re: Another month, another change in Ford Endeavour variants

Ford needs to publish rates for all the earlier variants as they have not sold off old stock completely. There are dealers who have trend variants made in June 2016.
