re: Mahindra KUV100 NXT. Now launched at Rs. 4.39 lakh

Spied again.

The facelift model is likely to come with a slightly toned down styling to attract a wider spectrum of customers. The updated Mahindra KUV100 is expected to be launched in the first half of the next year with a 2018 Indian Auto Expo debut on the cards

re: Mahindra KUV100 NXT. Now launched at Rs. 4.39 lakh

Thanks GTO! Terrible alignment of the bumper with wheel well cladding on the rear LHS. .

I'd say the car looks good from front & back now. Whatever little changes they've done on the rear - are good. Its the sides that are not so good for this car's looks. Nice alloys.

In the last picture, one will not guess that the car is actually so small in length when looking at only this portion!

If done well, this design could be used for an excellent proper, larger compact SUV to take on the NEXON, BREZZA and the lot. But no M&M thinks otherwise...

It's a pre-production mule, so we can pardon the poor fit.

To compete against the Brezza, Mahindra already has, not one, but two compact SUVs. The Nuvosport and the TUV.
However, both of them appear to have lost steam.

If KUV loses its aggressive lines (which are called ugly by bhpians) then I would attract much less buyers. Those who buy it like those lines and for them it is synonymous of an aggressive street presence. Making it more like a traditional hatchback would be a bad idea for the car. Anyway, let's see it in flesh after release to see how it actually looks like.

Of course. Not saying thats how the fit and finish is of production M&M cars. However - I wonder why people don't like to do the job properly regardless of what the purpose of the product is.

Neither TUV nor the Nuvosport can even dream of taking on the contemporary Compact SUVs which are literally light years ahead in either design or specifications or fit & finish. At least one of the 3.

Mahindra needs to do something about their lack of interest or knowledge on making small monocoques.

I saw this refreshed model without any camouflage, unloaded from a truck and parked on the highway near Adilabad. Was doing speeds and didn't click any pictures.

This design looks like a bad Chinese copy of the RR Evoque. No two thoughts about it.

Just realized this - the test mule has actually fully masked the tail lamp cluster! No visible indicator/reversing & brake lights (except HMSL). No temporary replacements attached either.

Wandering about on the roads not just breaking the basic most of rules, but also putting safety for all in the trash-bin. Not to mention no TC red plates which are mandatory for testing vehicles.

I am unable to decide, whether this is ugly or the previous version was ugly? Having said that, the touch screen HU is a welcome change. I think, if they would kept clean alloy wheels, it would have looked more sober. The car screams busy from all sides.

I feel it looks better than before. The diesel is very drivable and frugal. Seating position is high. Design is definitely loud. But the interest dies the moment you view the car from this angle;

Not that the car interests me, but will bigger tyres help it look better? from this view?

Wish they had worked more on the side profile, it still has the silhouette of a frog. And Mahindra couldn't resist their tradition of giving an ugly grill, reminds one of the Hannibal Lecter.

re: Mahindra KUV100 NXT. Now launched at Rs. 4.39 lakh

The facelift is not going to help KUV even a single bit, IMO. The overall shape is a complete mess just like the Xylo / Quanto / Nuvosport. Making changes in the head / tail lamps / alloys / engines / features is not going to help at all. No offense to the owners and fans, though.

But I like the view from the direct rear. Really.

The front end from Nuvosport, side profile from TUV and rear end from KUV can form a good car for Mahindra, IMO.

re: Mahindra KUV100 NXT. Now launched at Rs. 4.39 lakh

If someone at M&M has an affection for this car's design & it is here to stay, they should start looking for large volume tie ups with OLA/UBER etc. That is the only possible way in which this car will hit roads in numbers. My office has more Endeavors in the parking than Frog100.

re: Mahindra KUV100 NXT. Now launched at Rs. 4.39 lakh

They worked on the front where it was still okay. They needed to do something to the sides. The love handles are in excess that make the car ugly. And adding The Brezza's optional alloys to it isnt helping either. Something which needed to be toned down is made louder. What were design people at Mahindra thinking? Disaster didn't cause much damage? Lets make a facelift and mark it as a calamity?
