Is it true that the facelift will be offered with an AMT instead of the present DCT mated to the new 1.5 dragon series engine?

I hope Ford will be able to keep the price unchanged with all the new features added in the new model.

Are we sure its the Figo? Looks very wide and sits squat IMO, which is not the case with the current generation Figo.

Could it be a more premium offering from Ford?

Hope they test the car thoroughly for any pulling.

For some reason the car seems to look longer than the current Aspire to me.

Wish it is longer and a little wider than the outgoing car. Seating 3 people in the backseat is a challenge.

The Figo facelift gets revealed in the form of Ford Freestyle. It is essentially the pseudo SUV version of Figo. However, it is the version to buy over regular Figo, because of better looks, touch screen system, tyres and reverse parking sensors.
I hope Ford extends the updates to entire Figo and Aspire range. Rear Camera seems missing though.

Taken at 132 feet ring road & Chimanbhai bridge, Ahmedabad. It was a left hand drive.

This is a left hand drive so will probably not make it to India. But this car has potential in my opinion.

The sub 4m Aspire isn't doing too well because it's against some insane competition from Maruti, Hyundai and Honda.

However there is a small segment opening up just above. The need for a good full sized sedan that is good VFM.

Right now the option is Ciaz only. The Etios is almost gone. The City, Vento, Verna and priced much higher now. We need to see how Toyota's Vios / Yaris sedan will be priced.

This leaves a good opportunity for Ford. Plonk in the 1.5L Dragon engine with 123 horses, the 6 speed AT and the 1.5L Diesel. Suddenly you have a desirable full sized sedan that has very good performance, dynamics of a Ford and good features like 6 airbags.

All Ford need to do is address 2 things with this sedan. Update the rear boot lid design. Looks too bland. The number plate needs to move up for from the bumper.

Secondly, update the interiors from the cheap Figo Aspire cabin. It should be closer to Ecosport.

This might just work for India. Considering they have a car for export. Worth a gamble that might pay off.

Spotted this camouflaged Figo near Jagatpur, S.G Highway, Ahmedabad.

I was also able to click one clean pic of side profile & front but the tester guy who was having snacks came running, argued with me & forcefully deleted those pics saying that it will risk his jobs. He had audacity to click pics of me & my car to threaten me :uncontrol (I smiled for the pic)

Anyways, after the incident he redlined in the first gear & flew from there. 1st gear acceleration was hot-hatch like & engine noise suggested that it was a petrol one. Though I liked the engine note, it was quite loud for a petrol engine.

From the pictures you posted, one can make out the rear adjustable headrestsclap: The existing Figo comes with fixed head rests. Also the 6.5 inch touch screen from the free style is present.
Since we don't have the front view, don't know if Ford has added DRL and projector lights but it should be a must now since the new Swift comes quite loaded.
I expected these features on the freestyle but disappointingly they are absent and I'm not very confident they will make it to the Figo/aspire but Ford is definitely going to feel the heat from the new Swift!

And this is the last chance for the Figo brand! If it sells well then Ford can use the Figo brand for the next generation,else it's gonna be a long winter for Ford(untill the next gen) and the end of the Figo brand!:Frustrati

AFAIR, It had projector lights but no DRL. I am about 90% sure. Also, we can conclude from the pics that it has no push start button or keyless entry. Windshield washers are visible on bonnet which looks ugly. If I am not wrong, tweeters can be seen on A pillar as well.

Wonder why an export model was left to rot.

How I wish they sold this version in India. But then with the current tyre size and soft set up, it would have been similar to other sedans in the market and nothing special for the driver like the old Fiesta.

Actually, there is a significant product issue in the entire Ford lineup
- Their cabins are too narrow right from Figo to the Endeavour making one feel small inside. Same issue with the last Fiesta.
- Interiors super lack-luster in design. Feels like a decade old except Endeavour. Ecosport not to everyone's taste.
- Dealer Showrooms look old and less inviting

In comparison, Maruti who is the best understanding of market pulse has the best car width (Baleno wider than Honda City, Dzire/swift growing by 40 mm in width). The smart looking (not quality) interiors of the Baleno, Ignis, Dzire are better than all in competition. Just see their good looking dials and center dash in all, which spells modern.

Unfortunately Ford will have to live with their products being priced cheaper than the market to play the VFM card across segments. Its unfortunately a sorry state for them that even with a rocket 1.5 diesel in the Figo with good FE and excellant brakes; its not able to takeover Swift.

Ford KA+ facelift launched in Europe, adds the pseudo crossover ( Freestyle?) in its line-up.
