The car looks fab. Only the few dummy buttons on the centre console look out of place. Is it just me or is the B pillar white in colour? Hope it's just a sticker for protection. The exhaust sounds like the regular 1.8 Tsi. Might be a good thing on those long rides. The increased GC muted exhaust will definitely make it a very practical daily user.

I hope skoda provides the full black grille and black mirror caps as an OE accessory. 18 inch Gemini wheels as the EU spec car as an optional accessory would also be great for those who want to upgrade.

Eagerly waiting for the team bhp review. Seriously considering shifting my 1.8 style booking to the grey vrs. Have to arrange finances.

The guy in the video confirms the 2.0 engine, but he also goes on to say that production of the vRS is limited to 300 units initially.

Hi Forum,
Visited a dealer and checked out the car today. Everything was a discreet affair and was shown the car in the basement.the car was steel grey and had protective covering all around. I was allowed to sit in the car and check her out. The seating is higher or at least feels higher than the regular Octavia. The fit and finish is excellent. The driver seats are very supportive and nicely firm. The grip and the feel of the steering is robust and is nice to hold.
I was told that the car will be about 4 to 5 lacs costlier than the regular Octavia. Test drives will begin on 30th though dealer training is yet not done.
Skoda will offer a standard 4 year / 1 lakh km warranty. Also one can get a 4 year / 4 service package at Rs. 40000.
A peek under the bonnet revealed high levels of build quality and fit and finish.
There seems to be hardly any localisation presently. Even the battery is European make.
I have booked a test drive on 30th evening. Will report more then.
Let's hope the car does not cross 30l on the road or it will be a big disappointment.

I saw 2 Blue vRS in Spain earlier this month, and the international vRS alloys don't really gel with the car, somehow. So, I wouldn't mind Skoda India skipping them - they could have given a better design in India though!

In Race Blue, the vRS looks stunning :-)

The launch event has been postponed to the 1st. Same date and time. A lot of media speculating Rs. 33-35 OTR as the cost of the car. This would be a shame. I, for one, would certainly cancel my booking at this price.

A bit worried about the reduced ground clearance. I was hoping there will be a manual too, although the chances were very slim.

Good to see 4 years Standard Warranty from Skoda. The spare wheel is 125/80 R18

It's a space saver spare tire, not a full sized wheel. It is the size of a motorcycle tire.

Any idea of the pricing for the rs?
And is the ICE different from the style plus? The car looks nice and pricing is going to be key. The GC is the same as the regular EU Octavia without the rough road package. So it must be manageable.

I spoke to the skoda SA today. He says that the price might be close to 32L on road and might be revised post GST meeting next month. I guess the prices at the time of delivery applies. That makes it almost 9L plus increase from the style 1.8 Tsi that I have booked.

The previous gen car could take only a 205mm tyre in the spare wheel well. Assuming the same is true for the mk3 Octavia also, the spare tyre won't be useful for continuous driving. Space saver would save weight also (all the more important for the CO2 ratings and tax slabs elsewhere).

The Indian brochure quotes that the RS has rough road package as standard (Page 10). Furthermore, the overall height of the RS as per the brochure is actually slightly more than the regular Octavia (perhaps due to slightly differ wheel/tyre size or add ons on the roof).

So most likely the RS is utilizing longer springs like other cars with rough road package. Hopefully they have been stiffened up and perhaps different set of dampers also.
