For almost the same money as the VW Polo GTi, Skoda has brought in a practical "wolf in sheeps clothing" car with droolworthy pricing! The issue would be GC at 141mm unladen and 103mm laden is a lot low for Indian roads and speed breakers. Spare wheel and tyre is a practical joke on the buyers: asking them to cough up more for a full size spare! This is a multi segment killer: will pull many from segments above and below!

Who ever thought they could sell 3 door hatchbacks at 30L need to get their MBA degrees revoked.

I agree. Even my daily drive is a Golf Estate.
If you are talking about Golf GTI then it's starting price is apprx. €35000 in Germany. Imagine its price if it is launched in India.

Agree with your point. The integrated headrests, while sporty in the West, is tagged with the el-cheapo image in India with mist budget cars from the Nano to the i10 having the same setup.

That black Alcantara will also be super difficult to maintain.

I really wish Skoda had not messed with the front end. The pre facelist VRS looks so clean in its design. The facelift looks overdone.

25L Ex Showroom is a great price and I think it sits in a price slot that has the gravitational pull to attract enthusiasts looking at the regular Octavia 1.8 TSI as well as those looking at the F30 330i

Waiting for the brochure to be uploaded. It is a fantastic price but worth checking out if the features etc are identical to the top end Octavia or has something been dropped to allow for this pricing.

Definitely a temptation now given the marginal difference in pricing.

Fantastic pricing. Now to see how much it would become after the 10% cess this month.
This should work out to around 29.5L on road Tamilnadu. Hopefully the government holds the current prices till the festive season.

That's around the Tucson GLS price. That is one hell of a car at that price. Will leave a lot of other Germans licking their wounds on a good highway.

Only dampener is another 10% GST cess shortly. Frustrati.

The Skoda Octavia RS costs ₹ 24.62 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and that's quite a great price for the most powerful car from the company's stable in India yet. The new Octavia RS performance sedan is the first of its kind model from the Czech carmaker and right now, it has no direct competition in the country.

Powering the new Skoda Octavia RS will be the company's tried and tested 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine that will come mated to a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. Globally, this engine also comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, but India will not get it. The 2-litre motor churns out 230 bhp and develops a peak torque of 350 Nm. Octavia RS that it can go from 0-100 kmph in 6.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 kmph, electronically limited of course.

Up front, the Skoda Octavia RS comes with a black radiator grille with the vRS badging and chrome surround. The grille is flanked by the now popular quad-LED headlamp setup that has been carried over from the standard model. The Skoda Octavia RS also gets a new bumper that houses a massive three-piece air intake for increased air flow with horizontal LED fog lamps on either end. It will also come shod with 19-inch alloy wheels and performance-oriented tyres.

Performance enthusiasts have one more reason to celebrate , provided Skoda is reasonable with their after sales service.
