Regular IOC Fuel. Nothing fancy.

Tyre swap is not confirmed. Want to put the Hankook through it's paces and see how it behaves.

Congratulations Nikhil! You just bought a killer car!

Its kinda ironic that your daily driver is faster than your project car oh well I know you'll fix that soon.

But do use 97 as much as possible, and maybe even 99 since you lucky guys from Bangalore get it. These Euro engines love higher octane fuel, and you will notice a significant difference in performance and engine note.

Congrats Nikhil 👍🏻 reliability and peace of mind is the only reason one would go for a stock car as compared to a project car like yours and you have made an awesome choice! My next car is decided almost - only red or blue is the confusion

Just test drove the vRS. Loved the look and the interiors.
I've been driving a remapped Laura Tsi and somehow I expected a bit more from the engine.
Don't get me wrong it is fast but not as bonkers as I expected it to be because most of the power is at the higher end and lower end shove is missing.
The suspension is also quite hard for mumbai roads.
Confused now.

Red please. Will go well with the interior stitching.

Red, also because you get Red Calipers as standard! My Blue with Red Calipers looks a bit odd.

Also, Blue has high demand and very limited supply (could be a marketing gimmick. No idea if it's true).

Red looks stunning! Red was my second choice after Blue.

What was the on road price in Bangalore? I had read somewhere that only 300 cars will be produced per year.. Is that true?

The ride can get tiresome. It is pretty harsh. My Civic had such a supple and smooth ride while being easy to handle at very high speeds. Of course, I assume that the vRS is far more capable, but I doubt I will ever use everything the car has to offer.
Strange many international reviews stated the ride was good even with the 19 inch rims so I'm not sure why ride suffers here with the 17 inchers. Maybe over inflated tires ?

But ride quality could be a deal breaker for some on our roads.

The launch of vRS was awesome. Great way for the company to showcase the abilities of the car as to what it can do and how. Race/stunt drivers were called in to bring the best out of those 230 horses and the other dynamics of the car, to the fore.
There was also a "performance experience" drive where select people(mostly who booked and/or who registered) could have a seat and experience the best with the stunt drivers at the wheel wringing the hell out of the engine to the very limits. You can see it by 0:33 secs in the video:

Nobody is going to be able to do this stuff with the car on normal roads without killing someone. My only concern is that what if someone might try to attempt

Another video of the day time version:

I have 17 inch rims on my current 2011 Laura TSI and the ride quality is firm but never unpleasant. Now with the VRS with a stiffer suspension and 17 inch rims may be a different experience. But I believe it should not be bad at all as the international variants get 18 or 19 inch rims.

Electronically adjustable suspension is the answer.

17 and/or 18 inch rims is pretty much standard offer on the Octavia and also on the Superb (19 inch as well) in Europe. Adjustable Suspension aka DCC or Dynamic Chassis Control is optional on these variants. The point being good roads over there are the reason why ride quality is good despite the larger rim size. India always gets one or two size smaller keeping in mind our craters and pothole filled roads.

The ckd cars probably have the same rough road suspension made in India by the same oem(Gabriel? Not sure) that makes the polo/vento suspension. This might be poorer quality than the European suspension made by Sachs.

Re: Scoop! Skoda Octavia vRS spotted in Mumbai. EDIT: Launched at 24.62 lakhs

I looked up the vRS at TAFE today and I am all itchy fingers now to book one without a drive!! Saw a steel gray one due for customer delivery even as TAFE said that they will get a test drive car only after a month.

I asked for the possible increase in price once the cess increase is finalized by GST council and the sales rep mentioned it may go up by 1.5-1.75L.

I loved the interiors - top notch quality with the understated black and the fab red stitching. The red calipers on the gray colour, while not looking odd, does not gel well. Which is why I am now very keen to look at red as a preferred colour.
