Which is ok, provided it won't hit the Ecosport

And I felt that the current Figo range (except for the Figo S) doesn't really have the so-called Ford strengths. It would be great if Ford address that as well with the facelift.

Nice to see the addition of a touchscreen in the Figo. Also if you observe carefully, the MID display looks slightly larger than the one present in the current car and the dials have got a subtle design upgrade as well. Overall, Ford has 'just' addressed the Figo's shortcomings, though this is far from a comprehensive facelift which the Ecosport got.

Being an owner of the current Figo, I'd really like to upgrade to this touchscreen system if offered at a respectable price.

re: Ford testing a Figo crossover? EDIT: Now revealed as Freestyle

It is good to see Ford making honest efforts at upping their game with fresher and newer products. They have faced tough competition , and rumour mills have been rife with their possibility of exiting the Indian market, but I am really pleased to see that none of that seems to be happening. Rather, there is a strong push at introducing new products and offering variety at different price points to the customer. I do believe that Ford has solid products which are reliable and easy to maintain, and that it has a good future in our market if its efforts remain as concerted as this.

After all, the market leader Maruti has, among its numerous other efforts, ensured that at every 50,000- 1 lakh rupee differential, there is a product to be had for the Indian consumer.

re: Ford testing a Figo crossover? EDIT: Now revealed as Freestyle

I can see few visible changes from the reports available on the net. New Getrag gearbox, all new 1.2 Dragon engine, push start/stop in the dash, new touch screen audio system overall Ford is really upping the ante here. If these things doesn`t bring up the sales of Figo twins then I really know what else could Ford do. Just my 2 cents.

Looking at dimensions it seems the new touchscreen assembly can be a direct fit to existing models.

Will there be any change in gearbox of diesel unit?

To me, this looks like the regular Figo update and not Freestyle.

re: Ford testing a Figo crossover? EDIT: Now revealed as Freestyle

Woah! Our very own Team-BHP forum finds a reference in the presentation. The executive referred bhpian KIKU007 on the ford cost of ownership being lower than the bigger brands.

Edit:

- The car looks so much similar to Figo, much like Hyundai's approach with i20 Active.
- No mention of the 1.5 Diesel engine or the very important ground clearance.
- No price reveal yet. If the petrol engine specs are any indication, it will be a competitive offering. My guess is, prices should start around 5L for the base version.
- Car will be launched in the second quarter only.

re: Ford testing a Figo crossover? EDIT: Now revealed as Freestyle

It does looks smart from the front 3 quarters. I wish they would have tweaked the tail lamps a bit more.

Is it just me or someone else feels like the front (above the grille) has some resemblance to Punto?

Also, with 96 bhp and a 'sporty' suspension set-up, this should be fun to drive. I hope they have done something to control the vibration which is inherent to 3 cylinder engines.
