The new Zen seems to be launched here by 3rd of Dec. 1.1L will be for now and diesel soon to be followed.

It seems that the new Zen has leaked out to a good extent that the customers are holding their hands on buying any other car before seeing this in flesh.
I just overheard one guy (who came to take delivery of his new Alto) demanding a cancellation and wanting the new Zen.

I'm thinking of purchasing a Wagon R this December. So should I postpone my purchasing decision and wait for the new Zen ?

I've always heard that specifications are almost same(or poorer) as that of Wagon R and will be positioned below Wagon R.

Please help........I'm pretty confused because of Maruti's stupid strategies.

Wait till DEC 3 and see for yourself. It's worth giving it a look.
No use assuming too many things now.

There is one LHD Dicorised indica already doing the rounds. Its being tested right now. This particular model is said to be the export model. According to the driver the car returns around 22 kmpl.

The Matiz was cute, coz it looked more rounded, and more complete.
The new Zen looks like it borrowed its backside from the Wagon R, and the front from the Spark??!!

New ZEN is really nice looking car much much better than wagonR for sure, new zen has good interiors compared to all maruti cars, however not sure about its quality right now,

As usual like other cars new zen is also cramped car so if someone buy wagonR please buy new zen according to me because new zen has same chassis as alto/wagonR and same engine as wagonR only different exterior look and very nice interioir look.

Regards,

Ravi.

Looks good and am sure it will sell too.
But they could have used some other name instead of the Zen. Maybe just "Estilo" or something.

Weird shape. Swift style headlamps, high roof, and a small bonnet. Looks like they mated the zen with the WagonR and Versa. It looks spacious, but the looks go against the zen's racy image. I cant imagine anyone wanting to e-zen or b-zen this baby

And I doubt if the tiny engine bay can take it as well. It might be as fast as the old one, but might not feel as good. Ohh..how I loved the Old Zen (OZ!). Another great Indian automotive icon put to rest instead of carrying the concept forward.

Its pretty bad that they have dropped the 1.0 ltr engine. That was a jewel of an engine. Maruti is once again dumping an old car on an unsuspecting Indian public. The car is cute but too tall in my view. The older Zens handled beautifully and fun to drive. I hope the new Zen is half the fun the older one was. I think they should stop making that dull and dreary Wagon R. Looks like a motorised bread box.
