"CHENNAI: In a move shrouded in ambiguity, the Tamil Nadu government has ordered that people cannot buy or register a new vehicle without having a valid driving licence. Learner's licence cannot buy you a vehicle with a capacity of more than 50cc, the department has specifically mentioned in its circular dated August 24. The order will come into effect on September 1."

If this true, there are some queries/concerns

1. How can old/disabled people buy cars to be chauffeured?
2. How will disabled people buy cars for own use? Because, we first need to buy and register a car and license will be given to only that car Number

This is only for 2 wheelers and not 4.

The rule now is that only a valid licence holder can buy a car. It doesn't specify what licence too. What crap? So many three wheeler owners (auto rickshaw) and lorry owners buy an auto or lorry for leasing it or rental, and they only have a valid 2 or 4 wheeler licence (not for even HMV, Nor for 3 wheeler).

If you get a licence for 2 wheeler you can show that and buy a car or lorry or a helicopter huh? How valid is that?
