That is interesting news, the Fabia still retains its image as a great hatchback (with atrocious after sales support), and the success of the Ameo and long shelf life of the Rapid would have triggered this thought.

Skoda have surplus capacity at their plant and can definitely bring in a premium hatch to begin with.

Do not really understand the flip-flop circus. One day Skoda announces they will be focusing on premium segments. Now suddenly they say they see growth opportunities in low-cost segment. What has really changed in the last 1 year, I do not know. But one thing which has not changed is the high cost of maintenance and dealership attitude towards customers. Not sure what growth Skoda foresee. Well, good luck Skoda.
