the sales guy told me the pricing of the supercharger is between 1.3 to 1.5 lakhs and the warranty wont be void as it will be supplied by the company....it will be available for optra 1.6 and srv 1.6....not for aveo bcoz it doesnt have enough space....he also said they havent touched the exhaust ecu etc etc yet....the car will be good 180 bhp if exaust filter and re mapping done.....i would prefer the rider 1.8 turbo anyday for 12 lakhs

1.3 lakhs would be much more reasonable. 1.75 is way too much. Hope they grow a brain and offer warranty.

Damn company should give all their customers one price instead of confusing everybody and putting people off with their contradictions.

That's the problem. Some people are being told the warranty will remain while others are being told that it will be voided. Even company people are confused by the situation.

Typical GM...

Update: Turns out the supercharger was not even connected at the show. Technical problems.

Guess that's why they didn't start the car. And why they didn't want to offer a warranty!

YUCK!!! Overdrive tested the Supercharged SRV and lo behold....a 0 - 100 time of 11.4 (or in the whereabouts) seconds. With that supercharger et all, it can barely keep up with the OHC Vtec. Or the Corolla. Or the Palio 1.6 GTX. Or even a well-tyred Baleno.

GM ought to seriously give up on the SRV.

Even the Verna crdi will whip it and a swift with some basic mods will keep up?
GM cant seem to get anything right nowadays, neither in the US nor over here

Just a weee bit slower than the under 9 seconds they were "estimating"

Makes you wonder if the 150 bhp number is also optimistic.

The supercharger + plumbing etc will cost Rs.1.5 lakh and will be offered as an option at the dealership level. It's also compatible with Optra 1.6. I think therefore Aveo 1.6 is also compatible but I'm not sure.

No dyno figures yet, but the GM engineers are calculating 150 bhp and 0-100 in under 9 seconds. That's pretty good for a car that will cost less than 10 lakhs.

As of now GM is only displaying one car to guage consumer feedback. Based on that, they will then decide whether it's feasible to launch the upgrade.

Finally!

i think i saw this car at the Mumbai Expo
supercharged with drum brakes in the rear

It uses a Rotrex supercharger. These are highly compact as compared to the roots-type superchargers.

For more information you can see this LINK

Ok fine. They used the supercharger in SRV. Now, 2 ques.
Ques. 1: cyneverdie said rear drum brakes: eeeewwww are they repeating the same mistake repeated by Hyundai in their Getz CRDi? Poor braking with powerful engine?
Ques 2: What about the gearbox? Its not good enough if compared with Hyundai and Ford gearbox.

SRV turbocharged

The SRV is stylish and beautiful but it lagged the power. If the SRV is turbo charged, its a thumbs up for GM.
